Country Charm
lbbcon 21/11/2013 18:23Traveling with a student tour group for spring break and this was probably our favorite of the hotels. It's a little out of the way, but features lovely scenic views of the lake and surrounding Alps. They handled our 40+ group with grace. The rooms were comfy, the food yummy, views stunning, and staff friendly. I usually prefer to be the walking proximity of staying in town, but would like to take my husband back to this spot.

gdruppon 05/04/2010 15:28The hotel itself was very nice and well kept, situated in the Alps overlooking a picturesque landscape. The staff was attentive and willing to help with every need and the rooms were both spacious and clean. There was a sense of hospitality here that I haven't seen other places.
The location of the hotel was hard to find however. It was located on top of a high mountaintop which required our tour bus to make multiple turnarounds make it up. The signage to the hotel was also a bit hard to follow on the first day. There are no amenities outside the hotel area, as you're in the middle of nowhere and Luzern, the nearest major city, is at least 20 miles away.
Beautiful area to stay in
ReneeVG-on 29/08/2008 16:49We stayed one night at the Alpenroesli. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a balcony & it overlooked the lake in the distance. Breakfast was coffee (wonderful) and cereals with different types of breads.
I only have one complaint- the cows. Don't laugh, but around 3.45 AM the herd of cows with bells is driven up to the mountains to graze for the day- right past the hotel. The noise of the bells is SO LOUD- you wouldn't believe it. It scared me to death and was louder than a train. The manager told me this happens every single day. I don't know if you can hear them as loudly on the other side of the hotel- but they passed right under my window (and I sleep with windows open).
Overall a decent place to stay!
