Orator4Lifeon 06/07/2017 10:10We were here for 5 nights and enjoyed the stay. Though we used to be out for most of the time, and hardly spent much time within the hotel, but what it was, was good!
We had asked for a room with an extra bed, and so were given a large room that could actually accommodate 5 adults. The room had a lovely view of the mountains and the water fall. The cleanliness was good, with house keeping done every day.
The breakfast was continental with limited options, but the food was good.
The location is a plus. There is a Migros store bang opposite the hotel and many cafes just around the corner.
The reception staff was friendly and helpful.
The temperatures were in the mid 20s when we stayed here, and it would get pretty hot inside the room at times. There was no fans, and so you need to open the room windows.
Wifi was available only in the lobby area and was free. There was just one elevator, so you might need to wait for your turn at times,

Avoid at all cost
saurabh won 09/06/2017 14:50Pro: 1. Clean hotel 2. Location is good. Just next to grocery store Migros.
Cons: 1. most of the times there is noone at the reception.
2. Breakfast- no eggs, not even boiled eggs. The only warm thing is the toast.
3. Rooms- horrible beds. No double beds at all. Twin beds in all rooms. Mattress is not comfortable.
4. NO phone in room.
5. NO hot water kettle in room, NO tea/coffee maker.
6. NO AC. NOT even a fan in the room. Very stuffy hotel. No air circulation at all.
7. Television reception was very poor. All channels were grainy. Only one English channel - CNN.
8. Bathroom- the liquid bath soap is of very inferior quality. I and a lot of other guests in our group developed rashes.
9. Single elevator which is very slow.
10. NO WIFI in rooms. WIFI in reception area is free but very slow.
WORST hotel I've ever stayed in. Stay away from it if you can.
Excellent Location, shame about the ventilation
Whitbysarahon 04/06/2017 12:16Stayed here for a week, having previously stayed in Meiringen a few years ago. Location is excellent, being less than 5 minutes walk to the station (trains + busses) being located just off the main road through town.
On arrival receptionist very pleasant and helpful, and even suggested coming early to breakfast due to 2 coach tours in the hotel as well and they tended to be at breakfast at 8am.
Room was a little on the small side, looked like had previously been a single but made into a double/twin, but still enough room for our needs.
Staff very helpful with any problems, our room had a radiator stuck on (was 25C outside at least), receptionist attempted to rectify, there and then (at about 2100hrs), unable to solve but was rectified the next day, but gave us a fan for the night and offered use of more if required.
Wifi is tempremental, and is a shame only available in the lobby area.
Breakfast (continental style) excellent and could not be faulted, fresh rolls, croissants, fresh fruit, cereals, toast, yogurts etc
Good location but not for a long stay
VincentePauloon 23/03/2017 00:02When I arrived around 16:30 nobody was at the reception. I looked for someone from the hotel for about 15 minutes and then I noticed that there was an envelope, addressed to me, on the reception counter and there was a welcome letter and my room key in it. My room was small; a kind of business hotel style, and the bed was narrow which reminded me of a field bed in the army. But I slept well and the location is not bad because it is not far from the railway station and the rope way station is near by, from where we can reach the skiing resort. The breakfast was OK (continental) but without fresh fruits and vegetable. Wi Fi was available but not in the room. All in all for this price I can not complain.
