Decent value (if you avoid the bar)

We spent 5 days at the Alpina in July for the Swissalpine K23 Marathon. One or two things were bad, but overall I thought it was decent value if you actually use all the meals you can include. I would go back and would recommend the place.

Location is very central. I see this as a good point. Views from hotel aren't great but it's inches to the railway station and a few more yards to the Gotschnabahn, the main access lift from Klosters.

Facilities in the hotel are good, with a decent spa/pool/sauna/ steam room. There is a pool and modest (though good by hotel standards) gym. The room was a sensible size with a good balcony, and was kept very clean. You might find your bath has some kind of water or jacuzzi attachment. If you can work out how to use it please let us know, all we got out of it was an intermittent whirring noise. If you are in the annex there is a bit of a faff getting to the main building via the underground tunnel.

Reception staff friendly and helpful, especially Butch the Bernese mountain dog.

We booked full board with a packed lunch. The breakfast buffet was entirely adequate, even if it looked a bit skinny at first sight. The packed lunch was huuuuge. The dinner menu was generally pretty good although I did have a scare with a piece of chicken that was cold and raw in the middle. Luckily only very minor effects so no biggie but surely this is kitchen basics?

Ok things I didn't like....
- Being fed raw chicken, but like I said no neg consequences
- the waiter on the terrace who said "I am short on time". Mate, I can tell you are busy by the length of time it took to bring my first drink.
- The prices in the understaffed bar.

Overall however I very much enjoyed my stay at the Alpina, and would recommend it as decent value for money

Very clean and "feeling of being at home"

We stayed just one night as a family but will come back. Had a very lovely and quite room on the 3rd floor. Pretty spaceous and with lots of natural light.
Reception was very helpful and friendly. Price was okay - good value.

Nice hotel on a good location

We spent 3 nights in February at the Alpina in Klosters.
The hotel is located opposite the train station, in the center of Klosters and in walking distance of the Gotschna cable car that brought us to the slopes every day. It is rather quiet at night, and the occasional bus and train don’t disturb.
We took an underground parking lot to safely stow our car.
The room in an annex building was rather spacious, with a large balcony facing the south. There was a room for the ski-gear as well so changing and storing the equipment was easy.
There is a small indoors swimming pool and a nice sauna to be used after skiing.
The only thing we were not really happy with was the quality of the meals. We had booked half-board and we should have sat in the public restaurant area. Since this part of the restaurant was always so crowded and loud we were allowed to sit in the à la carte restaurant, which we welcomed very much.

Good location regards to the train station and the gondol

I was traveling whit my to daughteres (11 and 13), and we had a welcoming arrival and had a good time. We chose Alpina Hotel because of the location in relation to train and easy accesss to the ski resort - this was just perfect.

I give Alpina a ration of 4 of 5 point because;
- it could have a activity room or area for the kids, whit pingpong, billiard bord and so on.
- And we did not get the wow factor at dinner. The half bord dinner was disappointing and the serving took way to long (go for the ´a la carte´), and the option for the kids should be better. It was just four or five choices, and pretty much everything was fried. In would have wished that the pool was healthier for example with roasted chicken breast, fish, rice, etc.
- The pool is nice but a bit to cold.

Would I come back? Yes :)

Great location for skiing

Really nice location in front of the train station
Very welcoming place the staff are very nice and helpful. The pool is amazing a little bit cold but you get used to it breakfast is delicious.
All of the rooms are different, different decor, different architecture , which I find really fun , it's a surprise every time!! The dinner is always different too , always a very delightful meal .
Here is a little sneak peak of what I had tonight:
Mixed salad
Tomato soup
Boiled beef and risotto
Mango panna cotta
I hope you have as good as a have every year !!😀
