What People are saying

Fantastic hotel

Steve Fon 21/08/2017 18:39

Our second visit to this hotel. We stayed for 2 weeks in August in 2016 & 2017.
The hotel is a decent size but keeps its personal touch with guests. Food is the best we have ever experienced on an all inclusive. The whole place is spotless and the rooms are big with more than adequate facilities.
Staff can’t do enough for you. 3 decent pools and loads going on all day.
Well positioned between Albufeira and Vilamoura makes it perfect for exploring.
Would highly recommend this hotel.

Great Hotel
We stayed there for 5 days and didn't want to leave.
The apart hotel is great .Very comfortable beds and spacious area with TV and kitchen.
Loved it and will go back to the same hotel.
Lovely staff too.
You will not be disappointed.

Waste of money

Have just come back from here we went with our son, daughter in law an grand daughter. We had two rooms next together in block two, seperated from main block by a wooden bridge. We were shocked when we went into the rooms as they were very small only just enough room to walk around the beds no room to pass each other how you are supposed to cope with a small child is beyond me.The beds were all falling apart and stained see photos. The balcony area was very small and dirty this overlooked a busy main road and building site (see photo's)so was very noisey. We did ask if we could be upgraded better rooms but were told they were fully booked.
We did notice that lots of people left there pool inflatables out in the coridor because there was not enough space in the rooms to store them. These rooms are never 4*

The first night we noticed that the buffet restaurant was very small and the choice of food very limited which did not make for a good evening meal. The fruit juice was so watered down that most of the time you left it.The second night we all went down the road for an italian meal which was excellent.Rarther than stay in and eat at the Hotel. The second night we had a meal at the Hotels italian resturant this was included in the holiday price but the food was very poor so much so that we cancelled our booking for the Portugese restaurant and decided to eat out every night. We did notice that every where we ate that there were people from our hotel (you could tell from the coloured wristbands)They were all eating out for the same reason as us the food in the hotel was so poor.

The pool area was rarther run down there were uneven paving slabs everywhere plastic watering pipes sticking out of the bottom of the palm trees the wood decking areas were very poorly maitained they were notices up to say do not walk on them with bare feet. They are round the pool areas kids do not remember this? The main decking path from the pool area to the waterslides and pool had collapsed onto the ground and was very unsafe.(see photo's)

I would have to say if this is Firts choices idea of a good family four star resort we will not be going with them ever again.

Lovely holiday

Lovely location, spacious rooms and enough to do for kids.

Food was enjoyable, Mexican theme was our favourite. The waiting staff works really hard. Reading the negative reviews I think people expect to walk in to Ritz hotel when they travel abroad. We had a great time and many happy memories. Swimming with Dolphins will stay in our head and heart forever. We will definitely come back.

Holiday village

Just come back from First Choice Holiday Village called Alto da Colina in albufeira Portugal, we booked in on 5th June, my daughter and her 2 girls, they were in Block 1 and we were in Block 2 which was fine, our receptionist wasn't interested with us booking in she spoke very fast I had to tell her to slow down because we couldn't understand her, she eventually gave us our key but forgot to give us the air-con control, we went up to our room which I cannot fault it was very spacious and the balcony was brilliant, the bedroom was spacious too, wardrobes had plenty of room and lots of hangers too, the only thing we didn't like in the room was, it was quite dark, we had lights but they were very dim and not a lot of them either.
The maid came everyday except Sundays which again was fine, but when she did do our room she only made the bed, didn't clean the bathroom either.
We went for dinner all the tables weren't clean we had to wait for the waiter to take the dirty plates away, the tables were dirty with food on it as well, can't believe there was only one restaurant for all the guests in 2 blocks, hardly any waiters or waitresses, we had to look around for cutlery as well, don't think they had a clue about what they had to do,
After dinner we went for a drink and again no tables were cleared or cleaned, dirty plastic glasses and spilt drinks on the tables, nobody came to clear it up, it was left til the morning for the cleaners to do. The Swimming pools were lovely but I didn't see anybody clean them out, the paving around the pools were dangerous they were all loose so the children and adults had to be very careful in case they tripped up or fell over.
In reception there wasn't an ATM, so you had to walk a long way if you ran out of money,
After all this I don't think we will be returning to this Holiday Village again
