What People are saying
Even 1 star is too much
Stefan Fon 05/08/2017 16:04With this review I hope people understand to avoid the mistake we made by booking here. We even left the hotel early!!!
1. The pictures do not represent reality. Our room had hardly room to walk and was old and damaged.
2. Weak to no wifi.
3. No airconditioning/no curtains nothing
4. They say big breakfast, but all you get is simpel old bread. (Opening times are 2 hours a day not 3 like stated on internet)
5. Roomservice (like cleaning) is not standard. You have to ask for it.
6. Sheets on the bed have holea and dirty spots on them.
7. One pillow for 2 persons. Had to pay for a 2nd.
8. Our room smelled like there was a dead rat hidden inside.
9. The manager was quite rude when ee asked for basic things like: cleaning the room, pillow and smell.
This is just a summary. For 95 euro a night you expect more then a very greedy and misleading hotel.
NEVER GOING BACK THERE EVER!!!
Suitable hotel for a stay in the Altstadt
nachtyon 03/05/2017 05:59A decent hotel in a great location. I enjoyed being located in the Altstadt, while still being close enough to Bismarckplatz to make transportation to other parts of the city efficient. The room was fine and not too loud. It was a slight problem to only have one physical key to the outside door, as well as our personal room. I was in Heidelberg for a conference and my husband came along for holiday. It was a little difficult to coordinate getting back into the hotel room at night since we did not have cell phone access abroad and my husband had to come let me back into the hotel after reception closed.
Charming, comfortable, understated
BPJHon 14/09/2016 16:32If you want a nice room, bang in the middle of the City, a splendid breakfast and cheerful, helpful staff, this is the place for you. It's an up-market, no-frills kind of place, with no bar or lounge or meal service other than breakfast, but good rooms, comfortable beds and a decent wifi signal. I missed having a coffee-making facility in the room, but there are so many wonderful coffee-shops within a short distance that it was not really an issue. It's just off Hauptstrasse, the main shopping street, and within easy walking distance of a multitude of restaurants and cafes, the University (where I was attending a conference), the River, the Old Bridge and the Castle (at the far end). I wanted extra clothes-hangers and a second pillow, and they were available within minutes, The bathroom was very small, but adequate for anyone not extremely obese; there was unlimited hot water and good towels. No fridge, by the way, but they gave me loose ice when I needed a cold drink. I couldn't access any foreign TV channels, but didn't ask about that. The buffet breakfast was really very good with great coffee, cereals, bread and crackers, fruit, cheese and meats, eggs and so on. I loved the place and it was just right for my relatively simple needs for three nights. It was 408 Euros (GBP343) for three nights. And an airport transfer tip if you are arriving in Frankfurt: TLS run a reliable, cheap shuttle service for the one-hour trip. I was impressed with them too.
Friendly staff--comfortable, but spare room
Mike Ton 15/12/2015 20:36Hard to find--walked past it twice. Very small sign for hotel. Got there early, but was allowed to check in at 10 a.m. Parking on street not an option. Quickly given map to parking lots available nearby. Very reasonably priced.
Good breakfast. You pay an additional 1.5 euro for internet access which is very fast.
Great location: lots of street noise
Richard Lon 31/08/2015 17:33Stopped here for two days and overall pleased with the hotel. Clean, comfy beds, great location for the old town. Only criticism is the constant noise of people partying in the street until the early hours every night: lack of air con equals open windows equals disturbed sleep.
