Cosy resort with great service
vasudha son 24/08/2017 09:37It is a quaint place, perfect to get away from the city. We booked one bungalow for 4 people for 2 nights. It is very spacious, and clean. The furniture could use an upgrade, but the stay was comfortable. WIFI is only available in the restaurant and reception, no in-room WIFI.
It is located at the foothills, so there is no view, unlike the other properties in Coorg. Spa is good. Sauna is provided before the massage. Spa rooms do not have ACs so it can get warm in the rooms.
We took the all meals package, the food is good, and its tough to go hungry. Carry snack, as mid meal snacks only feature fried option, or sandwiches. The chef is really very nice, he made our favorite dishes while we stayed, and talked us though the menu, accepting feedback along the way.
Birds , Greenery , River ....what else do you need ?
Mohit29on 23/08/2017 16:04This place offers utmost comfort in terms of stay and location . Bungalows are huge and can easily accommodate 2 adults + 2 kids . They offer complete privacy . The bathroom is HUGE and beautifully done . There are plenty of birds which you would love to capture in camera , all the different types of trees/climbers etc . It was raining at the time of my visit and hence we couldn't avail river trek . It got cancelled for all the days we stayed since river level was quite high .
I am taking out a star in review for following reasons :
1) . Due to rains , we had to spend time in resort and there were hardly any activities planned other then the indoor games mentioned . They mentioned about Movie being played in evenings but projector was not working for all 3 days . Not sure if it was case for longer period .
2) . The main fountain which they show on website was not functional .
3). Food was just ok and it took them 30 mins to serve even with less occupancy and I find the price on a very higher side as well .
It was overall satisfying experience at Amanvana resort .
A nice place to be in winters ..

The location of this resort is the best .. nicely built across the river .. rooms r excellent n spacious ..
Food is yummy .. never had such tasty eggless cakes ..
Was not satisfied with the trek .. it was just a casual walk across the river .. there is nothing challenging.. they should allow us to stay in between the islands to feel the environment.. felt pricy considering the location ..
All in all a good resort ..

Rollerskateson 15/08/2017 14:09With only 19 bungalows the property has a personal touch to its service. The noisy pool full of kids is adequately compensated for by quiet nooks perfect to stretch out with a book. The Cauvery flows through the property and is a great waterfront to spend the day at. Just remember to take along some insect repellent. The only thing wanting there was the buffet which was the predictable set of pasta and dal makhani. Would have preferred a wider array of local or at least regional cuisine.
Having been to a number of spas across the world, I found the amanvana spa fairly average but very reasonably priced.
