Very nice hotel in a beautiful surrounding
HongKongTraveller3on 21/08/2017 03:49The hotel bungalows are spacious, very well maintained and nicely decorated. It is quite a big park, so if you are in a bungalow far from reception, you have to walk a lot or call for a golf kart to pick you up.
Pool is absolutely great. We also had a massage and that was tough. Think twice if you are looking forward to a relaxing soft treatment! The treatment was also not very discrete: no towel used to cover your body during the treatment and when changing side, which I found unusual. Also, the herbal bath afterwards was not my cup of tea. Not very appealing and a very small bath.
Buffet was okay, lots of choices, but quality was not what you would expect in this hotel. Quite chaotic breakfast buffet, and coffee not as strong as I had hoped for. Lunch took ages before being served.
The hotel is also situated a little remote, so if you go out for the day it takes a while before you reach the main road.
Beautiful Hotel on a Big Lake
longbeachCaliforniaon 18/08/2017 04:51Very spacious property. Many villas spread around. Golf carts (buggies) transport you with luggage to the room. We stayed in a ground floor suite, #311, and enjoyed the size of the room.
My ratings are 1 - 5 with 1 being poor and 5 being excellent
Clean: 5 -- no bugs!
Internet: 4 -- free internet, not rocket fast
Comfortable Bed: 4 -- mattress was not the best, king bed, 3 pillows on bed with one extra in closet, pillows were flat (not fluffy)
Bathroom: 4 -- modern, very large / spacious, 2 separate sinks, very poor lighting
A/C: 4 -- you had to use room key to activate the AC, so when we would leave the room, the AC would be off all day
Food: 4 (overall) -- Buffet dinner (traditional SL food so they should be able to get it right) I will give it a 3 because nothing was very good but we had breakfast in the signature restaurant both mornings and the food and service was much better so I will give the Signature Dining a 4
Staff: 4 -- very friendly and accommodating
We stayed 2 nights in this hotel while we toured Sigirya and the Dambulla areas.
Nice place but not my cup of tea.
lenuchaaaon 17/08/2017 14:30Place is lovely, the grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. Very old style for my liking but clean and with nice staff. Pool is great, food very good and plenty to choose from. The only thing is spa, the ladies very so nice and caring that it was hard to say anything, but the massage was horrible. can't really call it massage, just rubbing oil in you skin. Apart from that all good.

LunaWTon 17/08/2017 11:30This is a beautiful hotel. We enjoyed walking in the beautiful hotel grounds and the area by the lake. There were lots of items in the dinner buffet but we enjoyed sitting outdoor with someone playing the flute more than the food. The food we ordered for room service was far more tasty and also they come in large portions.
