Not a very memorable stay
Marcus Hon 22/08/2017 20:29I stayed here for a night in mid August and unfortunately it did not live up to expectations.
This is a hotel with very little carisma and character. For Switzerland it is as also quite dated with old fashioned clunky keys (see picture) from the 80's and poor wifi reception.
The decor is quite bland and the rooms , though clean and tidy, are small with a cubicle like bathroom. Looks a bit like a public city toilet.
The location of this hotel is not ideal - they give you a free tram pass, but if you return back in the evening from the city centre, the trams stop running at some point. The taxi cost from down town is around 20 CHF.
Last but not least, the breakfast is poor.
Sorry - but not a great stay and I will not return.
A good hotel, although disappointed about the lack of communication about the pool closure!

The staff were friendly upon arrival and the room was a good size. The hotel is out of the city centre although there is a tram stop right outside the hotel. Parking was easy and free.
I did not enjoy looking forward to using the hotel pool (part of the reason why we booked) to find out it was closed. This was not shared on the booking website or by staff when we checked in. We found out when we tried to get in! I found this very disappointing and when I mentioned this at the front desk I would have appreciated acknowledgement of this with a gesture of good will.
Excellent place for a rest
parsiIranon 28/06/2017 22:20This hotel is located just near the Aare river and Tierpark and you can go for running and walking in this beautiful place. The higher location of the hotel gives you a wonderful view from the city with excellent landscapes. The hotel is not far away from many embassies including USA embassy and it is easily accessible by bus from Main train station and old city of Bern. Although it is not near the old city and touristic spots, but it is located in quiet and very green part of the city. The hotel has a small pool too that is free for the guests.
Not a 4star hotel for sure!
anaclgon 25/06/2017 20:42We have stayed 2 nights and we were disappointed. The staff was very very nice but overall the hotel has a lot of thinks to improve:
1) The furniture is old and the pictures are not representing the reality. The hoel is not really modern and "clean";
2)The cleaning was not good, our room had a dirty pillow and a lot of dust;
3)On the swimming pool there are only 3 beds, so the rest of the people has to stay on chairs (2 only) or floor.
4)The breakfast was poor. There was no fresh fruit (only in cand) or apples/kiwi but not cutted. There was always something missing (eggs, juice, cheese, bread) and we had to ask several times and tell the employees that there was something missing... the employees are quite nice but there is no one managing the stock of food and there was always something missing (we have been there 2 days and it was always the same thing)
5) At night on te bar there was people waiting to order drinks and there was no one at the bar.
6)The hotel is not really english friendly, the informations and the menus at the restaurant were not in english however the staff speaks really well.
The positive points are the free pass to the city. The hotel is not on the centre but it gives you free pass and the tram is at not even 1 minute from the hotel, so the connection is great and the localization is not a problem at all.
The bedrooms have a nice window with nice view and the beds are great.
Overall I give this hotel a fair 3 stars and I recommend that improves this things, because it has good potential if changes this things.

Dustin Son 23/06/2017 22:11Beautiful rooms with a nice view and sunrise but unfortunately the towels are really small - that was the only thing which was disturbing. Otherwise service at the front desk and the bar really nice! Had a conformable stay.
