What People are saying

Clean room but small, no lift

Ranjan Ron 02/08/2017 01:19

I needed accommodation for my wife and myself for 4 days in High Wycombe, so booked this hotel. It is easy to find and has parking at the back. A BP petrol station is next door, with a 24 hour shop for essentials. We had a room on the first floor; the staircase was steep and there was no lift so taking the luggage up and down was a bit difficult. Although we had booked a double room it was small, and once we had our medium case and two small strolleys it was very crowded. Tea and coffee were available in the room, and the wifi worked reasonably well. The town centre was about 15 minutes walk and did not offer much choice for dining. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. The staff were helpful. We did not trythe breakfast so cannot comment on it

Clean room at the front on the A40 so very noisy.

Modern bathroom good shower and comfortable beds.
Reception staff helpful
Easy to get to the town centre.
From here we took a trip to Great Missenden for a lovely walk and found the Raoul Dahl museum.
Also a trip to Hugenden Manor was not far, for a great day out.
very good value unless you are a light sleeper.
Sadly for me the room was very noisy due to traffic

My stay at the Ambassador was excellent. The staff were polite and very helpful.
Although my room was at the front of the hotel and opposite the main road, the double glazing eliminated any real noise.
My room was spacious, very clean and comfortable.
There was plenty of private parking at the rear of the hotel, which saved having to park on the main road.
The breakfast was plentiful and served quickly.
Overall, very pleased and will happily use the Ambassador again when visiting this area again.

Four night break

Kev012on 25/06/2017 09:26

This was our first visit to High Wycombe, our elderly next door neighbour was visiting her brother in hospital, she stayed with her sister in law and our choice was the Ambassador Court.
I will give 3 views - Room, Food, Location.
Room - We had room 54 a nice twin room with plenty of natural light, spotlessly clean and ample space to move about, great easy to use shower.
My review would have been excellent but for a few of issues that the hotel could easily put right.
I asked for a non slip mat to go in the bath, the reason I always ask for a mat is that some time ago I slipped in the shower/bath in a Central London Hotel (very painful), Ambassador Court do not supply mats, we went out and bought one from Sainsbury's down the road,(£6, this would not break the bank guys if you bought a few to stock for those who like a bit of safety in the shower)
Although a twin room is for 2 people, each evening except the last the last day I had to ask for a 2nd hand towel as they only put 1 in the bathroom.
Tea/Coffee supplies quite mean, just 3 sachet's of coffee, no decaff, that gives 1 and a half cups each and no brown sugar.
Food - The breakfast room is accessed by steep stairs, you have to choose a time to eat breakfast and stick to it, this maybe OK if you on business, but if like us on a more leisurely break it would have been nice to go down when we were ready yet still within the hotel window time slot. The food was very good, plenty of choice, always on hot plates and very tasty.
Location - The owners have little choice on location but I feel the need to mention it for others who come to stay. The hotel is on a very busy road, our room was on the back so road noise was not a problem. We left our car at home so we had a short walk in to town, pavements very uneven in places and be very careful when crossing roads at junctions, no pedestrian lights and at one busy junction it is impossible for the pedestrian to even see what colour the traffic lights are on. The road is obviously frequented by ladies of the night, on our first day we came out of the hotel at 4.30pm and within yards were approached by 2 such ladies (in broad daylight), later in the week we met a couple on the pavement who said they had just received the same experience. As you walk into town you must pass hundreds of overflowing wheely bins, they stunk.
All in all a very good stay at a very reasonable cost.

Great stay!
