We looked for a stylish resort. We found paradise. A very nice room, friendly staff, great cuisine. This adults only resort is great to relax, to enjoy, to chill. And if you are an active person, ambre resort offers a vast number of activities like kajak, scuba diving, sailing. The wind was perfect for kite surfers. Not our last time there.
We dreamed about the paradise island of Mauritius for a few years now.
This year we made the dream come true!
The hotel staff made us feel welcome as we came in.
Beautiful lobby, the swimming pool, bar, restaurants, all well maintained as it should be.
The beach and garden, always clean, peaceful (adults only in this resort)
The restaurants serve good food, we find the Italian "Dolce Vita" and the beach "La Plage" the best ! The Indigo buffet restaurant is good, but after a week you have seen it there.
The cat on the terrace at morning and evening is disturbing. It jumped on my seat one evening out of nowhere !
The chairs in fabrics from the Dolce Vita should be replaced. (Worn out)
The rooms and hallways leading to them could use a bit of renovating. Especially on a resort like this. Some of the rooms furniture needs to be replaced to.
The staircases should be cleaned more often (sand on the stairs for 4 days !?)
We had a fantastic time there.
The staff always very friendly and helpful.
Mr Ravi is the person I remember the most, he is the best ! Always friendly, interested and helpful.
Would I go back ?
I think so, but only if I know if the points I've mentioned where solved.
After all, this is a paradise island !
My partner and I have just returned from 7 nights all inclusive at this adults only resort. Our welcome was wonderful, receiving an ice cold watermelon slushy, a refresher towel and told to sit and relax whilst they sorted our rooms and bags. It makes a nice change from having to rush off a bus and line up by the desk. Our room was ready upon arrival, 6 hours before the official check in time which was so nice, seeing as we were knackered after the long flight. The room looked exactly how they do in photos, clean, fairly basic and cleaned daily. We had a sea view which was a few mins walk from reception. Free minibar with various drinks inside and you can request your favourite drinks which was a nice touch.
It was our anniversary whilst there and we received a surprise - a decorated table at dinner, a huge congratulations cake and 2 glasses of pink Fizz, and so many staff congratulating us. Really nice touch at a fairly large hotel.
The food was great. I'm usually a bit worried at these large all inclusive resorts as I assume the food will be luke warm and the same every night. There was always a selection of salads, soups, meat and fish and a different theme each night. I have a dairy intolerance and a chef did a walk round of every dish each night and pointed out what to avoid which was good. There was 3 restaurants to pick for dinner. I'd say the main restaurant called Indigo was the best as more choice and buffet style but the beach restaurant is a great location and the Italian made a nice change.
I have a few small criticisms of the hotel which meant I didn't give it 5 stars. The trips they offer are expensive. We got the same trip with a guy who roams on the beach for half the price and we met other couples who agreed. The sunbed loungers aren't very comfy. They should have cushions or padded sunbeds as that adds a hint of luxury. We walked down the beach and surrounding hotels have really comfy padded loungers and it makes such a difference to your comfort. My only other small criticism is the welcome speech from our Thomson rep was too long. It took a full hour and was a duplication of info we already had.
These are very minor details though, and please don't let it put you off.
The staff are all amazing, they remember you by name which must be tricky to do with so many guests. Always asking if you need anything and I felt like no request was too much for them.
Perfect honeymoon spot or relaxing break, such a pretty resort and area.
Absolutely fantastic. Everything was gorgeous. However, we kept getting locked out of our room. They need to address this. We were moved to a different roim but only after we'd been locked out a few times. The Thomson rep was rude and patronising.
However, the location of the hotel was very good. The all inclusive buffet should have had more dishes without fish, especially the salads. The beach was amazing. Would love to go back there. The pool was good and entertainment in evenings was good too. All the staff were good- especially Benito.
My husband and I were at the hotel for a second time to celebrate his birthday...and the reason we chose to stay at the resort once again was because of the wonderful experience on our first time there. The staff were as lovely as before and sooo ready to help during our stay. A special thanks to Mr Vikesh, the guest services manager, for going the extra mile to make my husband's birthday a special one and all the staff who made our stay a memorable one.
The resort might not be the most luxurious hotel on the island, but I will visit it again and again for the ever smiling and always ready to help staff, the passion and dedication with which they serve their customers, the good food, nice vibe and beautiful beach.
