Nice stay

I stayed here for 2 days. I wasn't sure a out the place after reading the recent reviews, but the room was clean, the breakfast was fresh, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They were always ready give directions or extra towels; they even let me borrow a corkscrew when I forgot to get one when I bought some wine. I didn't use the pool or the hot tub so i don't know about those. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area for a nice place to stay at a decent price.

Stayed here for a nearby work event. The hotel is dated but looks like a remodel is in the works. The first thing I noticed when entering my room (210) was the overwhelming plugin air freshener, which I immediately unplugged. The room seemed nice enough, I've stayed in worse. I did a quick Clorox wipe detail out of habit. Was jolted awake by something crawling on my arm. Couldn't make out what it was since the only light on in the room was the TV. I looked for whatever the heck it was in hopes of beating it to death with my beloved tactical flashlight, but no luck. After my A-Fib settled, I went to use the washroom. Found 2 nasty bugs there. Needless to say, I was up the rest of the night. Had to head to work on about 2 hours sleep. Staff could not have cared less about the bug issue.

I only came across one member of the staff, at the front desk.
Seemed that the hotel had gone through a recent remodel. Walked into my room, and was greeted with a very pungent air freshener. Not good for someone with asthma. The air freshener smell was throughout the hallways too.
Woke up the next morning to a cockroach scurrying along my bathroom counter. When I got to my place of business, my business associate asked if I had bugs in my room. She also found 2 cockroaches in her room. When she went to tell the front desk staff, later (as I needed to get to my next destination), the front desk person wasn't interested in our dilemma at all.

I agree with many others that the staff is really nice. The room was clean. There was a strong plug in air freshener in the room that I suppose was covering up other smells. The remodeling is a do-it--yourselfer's joke. Seriously. Baseboards stapled on, carpet seams patched with scraps of carpet glued in place, poorly patched holes in the wall, stained lampshade, old mattress. The good news - clean bedding and bathroom. Decent breakfast. Did not use the pool, so I can't say anything about that. And very nice people. Unfortunately, the low budget remodeling and repairs makes me give it this low rating and I probably will not stay here again if I have a choice.

Traveling on business and stayed just one night, easy and quick check in. Staff was friendly and helpful. Ashley at Front Desk was able to answer all my questions about the area since I wasn't familiar with it. Great business stay.
