Got stranded
Doug Con 08/07/2017 21:05Basically got sent here while I awaited parts for my car. Was quoted 70 for the night but it was 90 when I got the total. Not a large difference but noticeable since they knew I was in a situation. Internet is hit and miss. The guy at the desk was barely attentive and didn't want to hassle with dealing with a deaf customer, but had to because he is the only one there. The next morning I went to get a continental breakfast at 7 am sharp. There were three types of cereal, coffee, orange juice, milk, and 3 honey rolls, along with a hoard of ants climbing the counter. Someone, a worker, brought in 3 bananas and left with one. The halls, in a non smoking area, smelled of smoke. The door chain locks were broken and fixed in a way that you could use them but they wouldn't secure anything.
If you have options to go somewhere else, please look around.

npflaon 25/06/2017 20:36staff was rude charged what ever he wanted even when the place was empty told you where you could and couldnt park, room was horrible. Was told one price on the phone when arrived was told there were no rooms and charged us more and thought he was nice by giving us a $5.00 disc. The only advantage to this place is its located down a hill and with gps showing it on the side of the road it was still not visable .

Deborah Non 25/06/2017 15:12Very outdated hotel.Bedding was old. Showerhead was the height for a 10 year old. Booked a room with a single Queen Bed, wound up with a room with two Double beds. Went to check out, no one at the front desk, wound up taking keycard back to room when no one came to desk after ringing the bell. Wifi so slow couldn't use it. Two bars of soap in bathroom, no shampoo, no kleenex and barely any towels. Next time we will stay in Springfield and drive the 10 miles to Ozark.

Gzumwon 03/05/2017 18:22We booked on Expedia and arrived around noon - check-in time was 3 pm. Was told that if we had booked the room directly, we could check in early. He said we were "Expedia's customers not his." It was obvious he did not like us booking Expedia. We would have to wait until 3 pm. Then he caught us before we left and said that for $15 more, we could get a king room right away. So we took it. We booked for $61.49 on Expedia but ended up paying $96.49. When I inquired why it was so much, I was told that we were charged an early access fee of $20.00. He did not tell us this at the time or we would not have checked in early. The room was not worth what we paid. We checked out the "breakfast" but left and went somewhere else to eat. It was very skimpy. There were four people sitting there when we came in and he was bringing 2 bananas and 2 muffins. There was some cereal and regular coffee, no decaf. Not a good experience. Will never stay here again.

Jason Bon 12/12/2016 15:04We were traveling and not intending to stay overnight, however, our alternator went out on Hwy 65 north. We were fortunate to make it off the highway at an exit with lodging. At 11 pm at night and 38 degrees we walked in the rain with 4 kids to the closest hotel. Fortunately it was this place. I know that God had his hand in this whole situation. Stranded with no tools and no transportation. We walked into the lobby and was greeted by a wonderful man who turned out to be the owner. After explaining the situation he got us set up with a room and assured me not to worry that we would take care of it in the morning. The next morning I got up still unsure how I was going to get to where I needed to go for tools and a parts store. Paul greeted me in the lobby with tools. Amazing! We spent about 30 minutes taking off the old alternator. In the meantime he had called the local auto parts store to verify they had a replacement. He warmed up his personal car and we jumped in and he took me to get the new one. We talked the whole way about family and such. We got the part, put it on and he charged the battery. Before leaving he talked and joked with the kids in the lobby. I offered him money for his kindness but he refused. We were on our way by 10 am. I am so grateful to him for his help. What happened and our experience at the American Inn in Ozark is very rare. God bless you and your family!!!
