Our "go to" motel on this trip

On our annual road trip with 2 kids and 2 dogs, this is our "go to" motel. For the past 3 years, it has met our needs and gotten better. The vinyl floors are cleaner than carpet and the rooms clean. The beds are firm, but we prefer that. The breakfast (cereal, pastries, bagels, waffles, juice and coffee) is basic but good. We definitely hear upatairs guests but I am sure they also heard our dogs bark at their noise. ;) We have found this motel to be convenient , reliable and clean.

Clean, inexpensive, and very welcoming.

We stayed two nights. Decent hotel. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The bed was good. Wifi worked well. The room was clean. They had a free breakfast, but I didn't eat it because it was all carbs. Right across the street though is a good place to eat called Studebaker's.

Interesting that there is no carpeting in the whole place. Which made it easy to keep clean, but you could hear the people in the room above you. It wasn't objectionable though.

When we go back to Sault Ste Marie again, we'll probably stay there again. Decent value for the price paid.

We stayed one night. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms have good beds and everything you need. This is not a luxury hotel.

They had plank flooring in the rooms (no carpet). It's a simple two story building with no elevator. There are no views. We would go again.

This place had an old feeling, although I could tell they tried updating it by putting barn wood-looking vinyl flooring in. The vinyl flooring is in the rooms and throughout the building, which felt weird to me, but I guess it's cleaner than motel carpeting. We were on the first floor and heard a lot of banging around when patrons checked into the rooms above us. It's a shampoo/conditioner mix and they had those tiny travel sized hair dryers. Our rooms had both a mini fridge and microwave, but I didn't discover that right away as ours was hidden in the TV/entertainment center. There were ample pillows and they were very decent. The beds were so-so in my room, but a little better in the other room that our other family members had. The breakfast was average, with cold cereal, oatmeal, pastries, bagels, toaster waffles, yogurt, juice and coffee. We were disappointed that we couldn't get adjoining rooms. Apparently they only have two sets of adjoining rooms and one room in both sets are handicap rooms.

Clean and Inexpensive

The hotel and room were easily accessible (main floor) and clean. The check-in was very good even though busy. The shower was clean of any mould or grunge even though the building is not newer. The breakfast was included, and I was impressed with the variety given it comes "free" with the room. The only downside was the noise. Floors in the rooms are wooden (quaint?) and I could clearly hear the people above me and the barking dogs in the hall. But overall, very good.
