We enjoyed the stay and the shower was nice but need more privacy for the shower so that someone would be able to use the toilet while in shower They were very understanding with the card we used and helpful.

Not recommended for small children

Based on the reviews, I thought this wouldnt be too bad for our family. I knew we wouldnt be around too much, but i was happy to check out. The staff was nothing too special and the breakfast we skipped. The floors are paper thin and we could hear people above us all night long. The outside was tired and worn out. I have to say there was NO evidence of bed bugs; but i still felt icky the whole time. The shower was moldy and the tub didnt drain, so giving kids a bath was a fun experience. The air conditioning unit worked about half the time and there wasnt any happy medium. The floors were dirty and the kids feet were black from walking around. it was hard to keep them off the floor. Yuck!

Choose wisely.

FOR BUDGET HOTEL, IT'S OK.

We stay at a lot of budget hotels and I have had bad experiences at "Americas Best Value Inn", so honestly I avoid them like the plague. This particular year I just did not have a choice. This is an up scale area and if your product doesn't cut the mustard you will be out of business.

It's an older hotel with exterior halls, you can park near your room if your on the first floor. I could hear the foot tread of the people above me but it wasn't a thumping sound but instead a squeak in the floor, certainly livable. The Sunday night must have been a light weight human and you could barely hear them.

The A/C worked good the first night, but the second night I think it froze up, and became much noisier, I did not contact the desk. The maid did not replace the coffee which I always consider bad service. They did make the bed, replaced the towels, put out more soap, but don't miss my coffee and cups. The tip will always reflect my happiness on that.

Breakfast at the hotel is below average, they did not offer yogurt or any fruit other than apples. They do offer waffles, fake bagels and continental fare. The juice had no flavor and I could not shake the container to mix the blend.

The shower worked good, the bed was comfortable, but for some reason the sheets were scratchy. The towels were soft but small, normal for a budget hotel. They had decent TV stations and of course it's Petoskey so the help is very nice. I would consider going back but I like my points and will still consider those hotels first. If you need a budget hotel, this one can work.

Fireworks were going off until midnight, This however, was not anything the staff of the motel could change. It was off the motel property.. Noisy neighbors, however, it was not late at night. It was that we had to be up early and had tried to go to bed early.

To start we were just passing through Petoskey and decided to stay so I went online looking for a hotel. We have stayed at America's Best at many other locations and liked them so I chose them and made a reservation. When I arrived to check in the lady at the desk (I wish I remembered her name.) said we were the third group of the day that said we booked online when they had taken all their rooms off for online booking. So we didn't get the room we booked, BUT she did have another room that was actually better suited to us AND was over $30 cheaper. She was so nice and kept apologizing about the mix up online. The room ended up very nice (one of the best America's Best we've stayed in), the beds were comfortable, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, and breakfast had make your own waffles!
