In the middle of a reno
Dian Mon 22/07/2017 20:15I've had to stay here under the previous ownership, not so good, but clean.
The Red Lion is undergoing a complete renovation - in fact all of the upstairs rooms were under construction. There was no significant noise during my stay, but the first floor rooms are still the older "model". The rooms are very clean, the beds good. The walls and carpet are still darn shabby.
I have high hopes for the renovated version. The staff was delightful. The breakfast was definitely worth a go, even had canned peaches. (I like fruit with my breakfast)
Lipstick on a pig
RoJo2008on 21/07/2017 20:57I would avoid this place in the future and not recommend it to friends or family. This was previously a value/budget hotel. Red lion is charging red lion prices for the same room. We slept in a room where the socket was coming out of the wall we felt the need to wear flip-flops in the shower because it was dirty, The room was dingy and dated and felt dirty. The hot tub was out of order and the indoor pool was so uncomfortably hot that we did not swim. It was very disappointing booking a red lion Hotel and arriving to find these poor and substandard conditions, to be honest I felt cheated and will never stay in a red lion property again. I would say the only positive is the staff was friendly and courteous.
Bugs!
Andrea Pon 12/06/2017 16:58I woke up to two itchy bumps on my leg, pulled the sheets off and found some sort of bug in the bed! Spa and excercise room were out of order. Vending machines completely empty. Some sort of animal tried to chew its way through our bathroom door!! Desk clerk was unconcerned about the bug I brought down to show her.
Construction site
Stuart Fon 25/05/2017 05:35Booked a triple room but told on arrival that we had two adjoining rooms because all of the second floor was under construction. Rubbish outside room, wifi very weak in room (had to go to reception) and room keys kept failing.
Beds comfy and breakfast OK (only warm item was waffle maker) but not worth the money. Until they have finished renovations, I would stay at one of the many other motels in the area.
Mix-up on reservation
Charlotte Hon 18/05/2017 02:21There was a mix-up on our part regarding the date of our reservation. When we arrived the clerk informed us that we were there on the wrong day. The clerk said they had no rooms available so we drove to Baker City and found a room there.
