We made a reservation back in June as we were planning to be in Cookeville for the eclipse. I got a decent rate. Since we had issue at our hotel the night before, I stopped by at noon to make sure that everything was in order with our reservation. The manager was annoyed that I was insisting but finally said that everything was in order.
When we arrived around 8pm to get our room, the manager informed us that our reservation had been canceled because my credit card was not valid. I had wrongly assumed that the card had been charged when I made the reservation back in June. My card was stolen in July. I asked her why she did not try to call since I stopped by earlier but she said that it was hotel policy and I had received them in the email. I looked, nothing in the email. She then offered a room at twice the price, she said she couldn't give me my initial rate (lie, she own the place). Since there was not other option (remember the eclipse), we had to agree to pay an outrageous price. So this place is run by crooks and I would stay far far away as they have no shame in ripping off their customers.

We stayed here for 3 nights during the Back roads Harley Rally, only because this was the only motel left with vacancies.... should've been a sign! My advice.... STAY AWAY! Only very limited English is spoken here, the continental breakfast was horribly stale donuts that were cut in half, stale cereal, coffee with grounds in it that wasn't even warm, and the milk was sitting in a cooler on the floor! Seriously! The carpet in the room was filthy! On a positive note... they had hot water. My advice is.... choose another motel!

DO NOT BOOK HERE! The room stunk on check in and the staff failed to do anything about it. When my roommate had problem getting in the room they refused to make a new key. Blockhead staff completely failed to accommodate a simple customer request and rudely dismissed any attempt to fix the situation. If there were negative stars, they would deserve it. Cookeville has several budget hotel choices, leave this one behind!!

Ok people listen up! No this isn't the Marriott! It's a good clean room at a great price. There was a microwave & fridge in the room. Coffee maker - desk area & couch. It's clean it's a good price & the bed was nice.

Stayed here 1 night, was supposed to stay 3 for the funeral of my sister in law. Got here to Cookeville. Checked into hotel, then went in to see the conditions. Took the bedspread & blanket off as I know they are not washed, looked for bedbugs, lucky enough didn't see any but found blood & pee spots on the mattress pad. So I left to go see my brother & it was his wife that just passed away, so I could tell & knew by his appearance that he had not ate or slept. So we all went to Golden Corral to eat then I decided to go to bargain store & bought some sheets, blanket & some cleaning solution & then asked my brother & his daughter, both needed some sleep, if they wanted to come to the hotel & stay with me since I was alone & they both needed to get away from their environment. So we got to the hotel, Recleaned the bathroom area & put sheets on the king size bed. So then I went to the office & asked them for sheets for the sofa bed. They told me that was $10.00 since I said only one person was going to be in the room. I said I explained to you I was here for a funeral & she says it doesn't matter, you said only one person was going to stay here & again I said my family needs some sleep. So I paid the $10. Guess that was for the extra people or was it for the sheets?? Then my Neices friend was driving down late at night from Michigan to Tennessee to be here too, so she got there about 4 am. Of course she slept. So when my brother woke we went to get coffee. The same snooty woman that charged me the $10 came out & said the breakfast was for registered guests only. Again, did I pay $10 for 2 extra people or did I pay for the sheets? I told her then I was checking out. When I did, again she was very rude, Indian people just want money, they don't care!! Needless to say, I checked out & went to red roof inn & made sure they were aware of the situation & I asked them if it was ok if some family stayed with me if they wanted to, they said of course!!! Goodbye rude lady, keep renting to the ones that don't care how you treat them or how nasty your rooms are! Oh, you said trip Advisor knows as you are a member, the guests are the ones that read this!!
