What People are saying

Staying one night while traveling

Kathy Kon 18/08/2017 12:40

The hotel was s older but has been updated. It is very clean! I worked as a head housekeeper in the past and I was very impressed with the cleanliness. It was quiet and we had a nice view out our window.

Good for the price

Best value in the area for a last minute booking. Rooms are older but clean. Good little variety of breakfast provided. We had a king size suite with fridge and microwave. Little bit of noise in the evening from downstairs.

Heading home

This hotel was in need of some updates and maintenance. The bed was comfortable and the desk clerk was very polite and helpful. I am sure from the looks of this motel it was a showplace in its day. An amazing staircase in the lobby going up to the 2nd floor and a lovely pond out front gave you a sense of grandeur upon entry, but the furnishings and the condition of the bathroom left something to be desired. If you're just looking for a good quiet place to sleep you won't be dissapointed.

This was probably a five when built, but has lost some of its shine.

Our two previous experiences with this chain haven't been good, but we decided to give this facility a try, based on the reviews. Based on price and the design of the facility alone, this would rate a five, but there were a couple of issues. The facility is quite impressive as you enter. and, considering the price, we were surprised the parking lot wasn't full. The lady who checked us in, was very nice and helpful. Our room was on the 2nd floor (adjacent to the LIBRARY!!) so we were thankful for the luggage carts and elevator. It was a suite with a separate living room and bedroom with a full-sized bathroom. There were also a couple of nice-sized closets. There was a flat screen TV and phone in each of the rooms and the lighting was good There was a nice desk and comfortable side chairs in the living room, as well as a MW and refrigerator. We really liked the central a/c with wall thermostat that was far superior to most motel models. -- Now for the downside. Although I found it acceptable, my wife wasn't happy about the cleanliness. We had a fairly major issue with the toilet; the tank took so long to fill that we had to wait for >10-minutes between flushes. Water pressure was good to the other fixtures. Although the key cards always unlatched the door, it took several tries to get the lever to open the door each time. One of us stayed in the room while the other was out, so we could be sure to get back in. When I informed the fellow at the desk in the morning during checkout, he didn't seem interested. He had his cell phone in his hand and I guess he regarded me as a nuisance. It really wouldn't take a lot to make this facility another point or two. We stop somewhere in the Sikeston area twice a year. We might give this motel another try next year and see if they've resolved their issues.

My opinion

Pros- each room is a suite with kitchenette, sitting room, 2 flat screen tvs , also by the design you can tell when built new it was a upscale hotel. For the price you pay it is a good place to stay. Cons - it is dated and in some places it shows more than others, beds are ok but not pillow top mattresses, no meat at continental breakfast but that is the norm in most places. There were enough options available for a decent breakfast. I would stay here again if in the area due to the cost and size of room.
