Bed bugs

For real...bed bugs. Booked through hotels.com. They are refusing a refund. Lovely. Wish I had never visited hotels.com and never saw this three star review there.

I can't even believe how gross the pictures are here. Is there any regulations on hotels in South Carolina.

Hotel should be closed down and demolished

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay since it was late and we had been traveling all day from Florida. Every hotel was booked up but this one. I have never stayed at this chain before and wouldn't be caught dead there again. Their rates are usually like $39 to $45 a night but it's summer and hotels price gauge. This cheap and not so nice hotel charged us $159 for one night but out of tiredness and desperation we paid it. When we got to the room it was like a nightmare. You could tell that the door had been kicked in at one time and not fixed very well. Also, it was dirty and nasty. It had a terrible odor, the floor was unlevel and rotted to the point that you couldn't step in those spots. There was dirt and hair (don't know how it got there) in the overhead light fixture. Holes in the wall, stained walls, base board off in places leaving inside of wall exposed full of trash. I couldn't sleep and didn't even want to touch the bed. I took a lot of pics and am going to call the BBB and report them. I didn't have laundry to do but walked passed the laundry room and they had 5 washers but only two that worked. Hotel says they have free wifi but couldn't get online. I should have just driven on home.

A little shady..

Ok so drove 12 hours and needed a night to sleep before we could get our other hotel. Checked in very late. After getting our key to the room, he ran back out to give us a new key to a different room due to a lot of people around. Um, ok. Drove to the area the room was, it was a bit scary to say the least. Old room it was a bit outdated

Bare Minimum...for real!

They REALLY need an overhaul, and reading LAST YEAR'S review, they still have not done it yet...the shower curtain has MOLD on it, because the cleaning person never bothers to unfold the ends...the entire shower needs to be updated. The sink needs a aerator because the water splashes the sink all over--and you as well. The mattresses do need to be updated, as does the carpeting.

The towels are the cheapest that's made. If you wipe your hands on the hand towels, the towel stays wet and therefore is unusable for a second time. The pool is locked--in 80-degree weather.

Overall, this place is OLD and it shows. After all the years of collecting $$$ from travelers, surely they have enough to start remodeling.

YET...the staff are VERY friendly. And if you are looking for a budget place with no frills, this is it.

Dont walk, run

Run away and fast. Its a 29.99 place that needed updating 40 years ago. It amazes me how this place is still in business.

No soap in my room, nasty carpet, owner a complete pain to work with, etc.....
