MinnesotaGirl201on 19/08/2017 17:36This place rocked! All the amenities of a resort. Very clean and friendly staff. Very accommodating as we stayed an extra night due to rain at our next destination. We were all on motorcycles and felt they were safe in the lot. We will stay again!
Breathtaking
Dee Non 18/08/2017 19:20This hotel is one of the best I have ever been to. We come here every year. The staff is great and the water park is one the kids love. The breakfast has a wide selection to choose from also. Wonderful view of Lake Superior. I recommend this hotel to anyone.
Great Place with lots of activities
Todd Hon 18/08/2017 15:56We stayed here due to the proximity between the Porcupine Mountains and Bayfield-Madeline Island area. The hotel had many activities that you could enjoy and the view over the bay was great. The breakfast each morning was pretty good, one day biscuits and gravy, the next day was sausage and eggs and the next was bacon and eggs. If you book here the recommendation I would have is for the lake side view upgrade to the balcony rooms. A balcony room has more space and the view from the balcony is better, for not that much more. We enjoyed our visit and would stay here again if we come to Ashland.
All of the fun of a resort, yet all the perks of a hotel too
Linda Son 17/08/2017 02:29We booked this hotel four our four-day stay in the Ashland area because we were interested in all of the amenities the hotel advertised on their web site, and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is located on the shores of Lake Superior, and we enjoyed fantastic views of the sun setting on the water in the evening, listening to the loons while we sat on our balcony enjoying the summer evening. They had lots of outdoor games available to play, such as Jenga, ladderball, and bean bag toss. They have paddle boats and fishing poles to use, and they even provide the worms! In the evenings we usually enjoyed a s'more with a freshly toasted marshmallow as we sat by the campfire. They also have an awesome indoor water park, which includes two water slides that kept our group of five adults occupied for quite a while. After we tired of that, we relaxed in the hot tub, and they also had a sauna. They have a kiddie pool and kiddie slide for the little swimmers as well. The rooms themselves are average size with average amenities and decor. The breakfast is also average for a hotel of this type with a reasonable selection of hot and cold items such as fresh waffles, cereal, muffins, yogurt, and hot items that change daily such as biscuits and gravy, eggs and sausage, etc. The wifi worked very well on all of our devices. Overall what sets this hotel apart from others are the variety of fun activities that you normally don't see at a hotel. We would definitely recommend this Americinn.
Prepare to be underwelmed.
r0berthans0non 10/08/2017 17:12When we arrived we found that the room had not been vacuumed, used soap and shampoo in the shower. We asked the staff to finish cleaning the room. Wasn't done. Breakfast area dirty, floors again not vacuumed, tables weren't cleaned after guests left, trash can needed to be emptied. Staff had a less than helpful attitude. Needs a new manager. Won't stay here again.
