A Comfy Oasis After Late Night Travel

I was driving to a book signing in Los Angeles from Kitchener, Ontario. I was stopping in New York to do a Kinek pick up, not realizing that my map plan was off since I hadn't gone down through Detroit. I had a hotel booked in Omaha, NE, but by the time I got to Coralville, I'd been driving since 7AM, it was after midnight my own time and the GPS said I had 3 hours to go. I took the hit on the booked hotel still far away and went across the road to the AmercInn after filling the gas tank.
The night clerk was friendly and helpful, and I was able to book a very nice room with a super comfy king bed for $78.35 USD all in. It was completely worth it. The room was clean and very nice. I'm a stickler for a comfy bed because I have conditions that cause me severe joint pain and an uncomfortable bed will have me tossing all night and leave me with very sore hips the next day. This bed was super comfortable, and I will definitely be booking this hotel chain again.
I didn't have cream with me (I don't use whitener due to the crappy ingredients like GMO corn and soy) so I didn't get to use the coffeemaker, but it was nice they had one. There was a hairdryer. Clean tub, toilet and sink. Clean floors. The grounds were nice and even though my car was packed with books and promo items, no one disturbed anything. The lobby and hallways were clean and modern. The tv was nice and had great channels. This is always important to me as I'm a tv sleeper. I always appreciate a luggage rack upon which to place the suitcase so that you're not lugging it around and can access items easily.
They do charge a hefty deposit. $236 CAD on my card, but that was okay for me and they did take it right off first thing in the morning...but do be aware. Overall this was a clean comfortable stay with nice amenities. Friendly front desk staff. Safe, quiet...including the parking lot and right across from a gas station with many food items to choose from. The A/C worked well too in addition to the wifi. Wifi is always a big deal to me as I'm Canadian and for the first three days of my trip I needed it to download my GPS maps on my phone since PC Mobile wasn't working for roaming at all and I was pretty much left without a phone. Would most definitely stay here again!

Overnight stay

Very nice place to stay. Close to all the shopping areas and restaurants. WE did not use the pool but WE have before, It was a good nights sleep I think they need a better selection for breakfast foods. Maybe change it once in awhile and have donuts and cookies or Cinnamon rolls avbailable

Unprepared

There was a fire outage the morning of our checkout. Either there was no generator or it was broken. So no orange juice and no swimming. The fire department had to come and inspect something.
The Manager was unprepared and irritable. The rest of the morning staff for understanding and kind. Wi-Fi was unreliable.
I saw at least three bugs in the laundry room. I would not recommend using the machines they look really outdated.
The dining room is ridiculously crowded and small.

Nice neighborhood convenient to a lot of things the hospital mall etc. They do have pleasant staff, and the swimming pool is nice and open, overall the rooms are clean but cosmetically there just some Patchwork here and there that's noticeable.

I would return only if there's nothing comparable price wise out there.

The breakfast was satisfying (they had fresh waffles) and everything was clean and easily accessible. The beds were nice and I loved the shower heads. They let lots of water out making it easy to clean quickly.

AmericInn isn't usually my first choice but it is the first choice of my three siblings. There were 8 of us gathered - we hadn't seen each other for 2 years. We were primarily disappointed that there was no place for the 8 of us to gather. We were discouraged from using the breakfast area. Every time we left the area they put the chairs on the table. The first time we thought it was because they were going to clean. However, they did it every time no matter what time of the day. On our last night we squeezed into one of the rooms so we wouldn't have to take chairs off the tables again. One sister had lawn chairs in her car so we used those plus the desk chairs from the other 3 rooms.
