Disappointing
on 13/07/2017 05:24Such a disappointment after reading reviews and seeing TripAdvisor's rating. The place was dark, dated and smelled of grease. The breakfast selection was limited and poor quality. At least the staff was friendly and accommodating.
Our awesome experience at AmericInn--Grimes, Iowa
M1951PVsandragon 28/06/2017 17:39This was our first stay at the AmericInn in Grimes, Iowa. We were met with a smiling face and quickly got checked in. Reservations were just as I had phoned them in. The manager offered to help carry luggage to the second floor rooms. He helped my sister carry her luggage and cooler which were both heavy. At check in he explained the breakfast area and times and food offered. He also told us about the "beer bucket" the motel offered and that they also had pizza available in the bar area. We didn't even have to leave the motel that night for supper as we enjoyed pizza. There were ball tournaments in the area and several teams staying at the motel. The next morning when we went down for breakfast the dining area was full and they opened the bar area with table and chairs for us and other quests. The rooms were always clean, the beds made, and plenty of towels. The manager went above and beyond to answer our many questions and make our stay enjoyable. The staff was all very friendly. The breakfast area was always stocked with food and the coffee bar always had coffee and hot water available. We will definitely be staying at this AmericInn again and others that we find during trips to other areas. Thanks for an excellent experience!!!!!

djm8688on 27/06/2017 16:33This hotel was great. The people who work there are the best around. The gentlemen who checked us in named Zeel was absolutely the best. He went out of his way to help us. Waved and spoke to us everyday while we were there. The manager (I'm sorry I didn't get his name) was also great. He got us in a night early and was so friendly and helpful. And get this, the housekeeper who was a male and I didn't get his name helped us with our luggage when we were checking out. We had to take it down stairs and he carried all of our bags for us. We didn't ask he just saw us and said please don't carry those I will get them for you and took them to our vehicle. We will be back in Iowa next year and will definitely be staying there again. It is comfortable and clean too. Thanks everyone for making our stay so much more enjoyable. We appreciate all of you.

149laurieron 18/06/2017 15:09Always friendly staff!! The bar had wedding function going on so they brought my husbands order to our room and that was not expected but much appreciated!! And breakfast choices have improved since last visit . Next time will utilize pool and workout room for sure.
A great place to stay
khaas2017on 02/05/2017 02:49I have been staying here once a week for 9 years, it is a very nice very clean hotel. All the staff is very friendly and helpful with a very nice pool area and lounge with great food. A excellent morning breakfast and great coffee. Can't say enough good things about the AmericInn in Grimes.
