They made every effort to ensure that we had a good stay. Friendly to kids, helpful to adults, offering suggestions and cool towels when needed on a hot summer day. Renee went out of her way to help us with an unusual situation.
Lovely, Great Value
HJ Mon 30/05/2017 15:21The AmericInn is a excellent choice when visiting Lake Okoboji. The location is close to the lake and only 2 miles from Arnold Park and several other local business within walking distance. The rooms are clean and of a good size. If you can get a room on the golf course side then you get a small balcony which is a nice perk. If you have knee problems or a hard time walking be sure to request a room on the first floor as they do not have an elevator. They offer a warm breakfast 7 days a week. They offer the fruit, waffles, an assortment of pastries, a few different types of cereal and also oatmeal. I was surprised and delighted to find that they offered Greek Yogurt as well as Almond and Soy milk. The customer service we received was second to none. My family does a great deal of traveling and I wish that every hotel had such personable employees. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. Renee who works at the front desk was also super helpful in providing us with local activities for Memorial day fun and great tips on the local dining and nightlife. Katie who I believe is in housekeeping, gave us some good tips on activities in the area and also helped direct us to the best hospital in the area when my cousin hurt herself out in town and need to see a doctor ASAP. I did not take advantage of the indoor pool during my stay but the indoor spa was nice.

Randy Hon 29/05/2017 03:38Very clean and comfortable rooms. Our room was on the second floor and had a balcony that was a nice touch. They do have a hot breakfast every morning that was well stocked. Only draw back was there was no elevator, but they do say that when you book your room. Front desk staff was efficient and friendly.
Great value
karlo915on 14/05/2017 17:18I stayed at the Okoboji AmericInn recently on business. The staff was very helpful. The rooms were very clean and updated. The breakfast area and selection was very good. Upon check in I was informed of s possible water heater issue. They informed me that they were working on it and suggested I shower in the evening or early in am and keep short. Apparently they resolved before I awoke since I was able to take a normal,shower with no issues.
Everything you need at Lake Okoboji
dennis kon 28/04/2017 00:58This AmericInn has a good location, nice lobby, friendly staff and a good, but not great, breakfast. The rooms are of good size, clean, a comfortable bed and cable tv with all the channels. The shower had low water pressure but was very warm so no real problem there. I would recommend trying to get a room on the golf course side of the building as those rooms have a small balcony. The other side has a parking lot view with no balcony.
The location is close to the lake and close to Arnold's Park. Access is right off highway 71. The price isn't really reasonable but no other motels are either in this tourist area. As others have said there is no elevator to the second floor so ask for a first floor room when making a reservation.
