No problems, good hotel
218alyssamon 22/08/2017 17:53Good hotel stay, clean room, good breakfast. We had the king bed with Jacuzzi in the room, which was wonderful. A little pricey, but it was good. Nice area with good recommendations. Also friendly staff!
3 night stay with kids
LSahamion 21/08/2017 14:52We stayed for 3 nights in the middle of the week and had a great time. We didn't pay nearly as much as some of the other reviewers (or for what we usually pay for lodging in Saugatuck) so for what we did pay the hotel exceeded our expectations! We all loved the pool area (especially at night with the lights on the patio and music playing), the all-day coffee in the lobby, the cleanliness of the hotel, and the amazing staff. Brandon and Tish were so accommodating and friendly. The rooms were clean but our only complaint would be the moisture issue in the rooms (we had 2). The AC units had a slight musty smell. The location of the hotel was great too as it was only a few minutes drive to downtown Saugatuck. We had a great trip and we will definitely stay at the AmericInn again!
Great place to stay.
Betsy Son 14/08/2017 20:30Nice hotel. Very convenient location between saugatuck and south haven. Nice decor and comfortable rooms. Pool area and outside area were nice. Breakfast was included and was good. We would definitely stay here again.
What a joke
MJStefko2012on 10/08/2017 03:25My husband and I plus another couple came to saugatauk for our anniversary. To charge 280.00 for this basic roadside motel is plain robbery. I have visited many other small quaint towns over the years and will gladly pay this price for a b&b or waterfront room or suite. But a roadside motel? Never again. I also don't see the fuss about Saugatauk. I doubt I will return to this town. Mackinac island is worth it. This town is not.
Our first time in the Saugatuck area
Carmel Kon 09/08/2017 06:10I have stayed at the AmeicInn Motel in Iron River, Michigan for years. They make sure their guests are well taken care of.....and so when my family was coming to the Saugatuck area we chose to say at the AmericInn. Wow....what a difference two locations can be. Three weeks ago we stayed for one night. the motel is definitely understaffed. Brandon was multitasking both in the evening when we checked in and once again in the morning when people were trying to check out. He not only had to manage the front desk but also was trying to manage the breakfast area. It was a mess. He did the best he could. He was pleasant but it was sad to watch him try to do too many people's jobs all at the same time. We had breakfast in the last hour of the serving time and most of the food was empty. And the waffle machine had run out so Brandon had to refill it for us, while people waited at the front desk to check out. Those were not fair working conditions for him or for the guests. Kudos to Brandon but shame on the management of the motel. Also we had ants in our room. And the door to our room was difficult to close as the door frame was damaged making it difficult to open and shut. The motel is in need of maintenance. Lastly the cost of the room was twice as much as we pay in Iron River, Michigan. Lesson learned.....you don't always get what you pay for. Definitely not worth $250.00 a night. It is not in a scenic location.....not on the water.....I don't know how they feel they can ask that kind of money for a very plain room.
