It is 2 stories with no elevator, so be sure to request a room on the first floor if stairs are a problem for you. The sauna was broken during our stay and we could not use the wifi from our room. The free breakfast is the usual fare: cereals, pastries, yogurts, make your own waffles, hard-boiled or faux "scrambled" eggs, beverages. It was fine for a one night stay and we did get a really reasonable rate considering other nearby hotels.

Kurt Kon 26/07/2017 02:32To start with let's be clear about one thing, I'm very much appreciated of the staff attentiveness and responses to any questions or concerns. Every individual that provided service at this hotel did a very fine job. My concern is with the hotel itself. From problems ranging from the TV that did not work to a toilet that ran constantly to a room that smelled musty and felt clammy, to at best a weak approach to breakfast it's just not a good hotel stay. This hotel essentially lives off a wedding barn in the next town that is exceptional and host weddings every Thursday, Friday & Saturday throughout the year. There are few choices of overnight locations to stay and I suggest staying as much as 50 miles away in Minneapolis would be worth the time relative to the value provided at this AmericInn. I knew that this brand of hotel was on the low-end and my stay confirmed as such. Find a better option.
Great place for layover on way to Northern Minnesota
Amistad1234on 22/07/2017 15:33Group of seven traveling to Ely MN after flying into Minneapolis. Convenient location. Good, clean place. It is a two story building with no elevator but we knew that in advance so no big deal. The entire AmericInn chain is like this as far as I can tell. I didn't rate this as five star as it is a nice budget conscience place and nothing fancy. We did not sample the breakfast but it appeared to be standard "free breakfast" quality.

WANGELA70on 20/07/2017 19:04All the staff were friendly though the property was evidently short-staffed. This hotel does not have an elevator - travel light! Our room had two sinks, in room and in bathroom, a small desk and 2 chairs. There was no list of TV channels, only one lamp worked - because the remaining sockets didn't work! The toilet was running all night, not conducive to a good night's sleep. At breakfast there was no hot water for tea or porridge, no fruit and no fruit juice. Disappointing end to a disappointing night.
