Wasn't in the Plan
John-Smitherson 18/07/2017 22:52We had a Sunday breakdown along I-94 with our 4 grandchildren (ages 4-10) but were able to limp to the first Valley City exit. It isn't fun to have something like this happen, but we decided to make the best of it, and it turned into a very good experience; and I'll tell you why.
(1) There was the friendly tow truck driver who towed our vehicle to
(2) a honest mechanic, and then drove us to
(3) The Americinn, where we were treated to friendly hospitality. All room cleaning had yet to be finished, so the clerk had our family suite cleaned immediately. After a short wait and some coffee and cookies, we were given the keys to a nicely set-up and clean suite. We all got on our swimming gear and spent the next 4 hours in the pool which, at 4 ft depth is geared for kids and families. (There is also a sauna, a hot tub, and a game area in the same area as the pool.) We all slept in comfortable beds, which is saying something, because I slept in the sofa bed. The breakfast in the morning was delicious.
After talking to the mechanic Monday morning, it appeared we might have had to stay past checkout. The hotel staff very kindly agreed to accommodate a late check-out. As it turned out, The fix was simple and our vehicle was ready 45 minutes before the 11:00 checkout time.
So in the end, we were delayed, but thanks to the kind people of Valley City, our grandchildren got to experience Midwestern hospitality at its finest.

wolfhollowon 18/07/2017 16:42Very clean and nice property. The room was spacious and had a table and a couple of chairs. Beds were great. Very clean. The staff was fantastic everywhere you went. On check in the front desk person was friendly and very helpful. We were not recognized as an Easy Rewards member but we were not at the Americinn in Fargo the next day. maybe they are getting away from that-if so-Change you TV ads. My only complaint and a real pet peeve is to be charged for a Safe Warranty" I shouldn't have to pay for a safe- they put it in the room-I did not request it.

Galen Ton 18/06/2017 04:10This is a great place to stay when you are traveling on Interstate Ninety-Four between Bismarck and Fargo, North Dakota. The rooms are clean and well appointed. Their attached restaurant is convenient and Great! Megan at the front desk will help you find the best room for your needs.

Bonnie Hon 29/05/2017 23:03Stayed two nights as we were attending our granddaughter's wedding. Great to find such a clean updated place to stay in Valley City. Breakfast met all morning needs and extra time with friends and relatives.

John Bon 22/05/2017 02:58This was a very clean, quiet, comfortable place to stay. The desk person was friendly, efficient, and accommodating. The breakfast had good selection and was very well maintained. Bridges Bar and Grill directly adjacent was also a good place for dinner.
