What People are saying

Stayed here for 1 night, it's ok.

Have stayed here for 1 night in a 12persons shared bedroom. Bathroom is average. Have the space to change clothes before and after the shower. It was ok.

Lockers are big. My 50 liter backpack fits in + more. Also the bed are far seperated. You have your own space.

Great 2 night visit

Had a great experience here from start to finish. The staff at check-in was great - I was met with smiles.

I stayed in a 4 bed dorm room style room. The room was nice w/ lockers to lock up your stuff - I brought my own locks so I'm not sure if you need to rent them if you don't bring your own. The showers were down the hall and I never had any problems with accessibility or privacy.

The bartender, I think his name was Ian, was great and gave me a tip on a Union Berlin soccer/football match. He hooked me on Viagogo with tickets and the staff helped me figure out the train system to get there. I ended up meeting another American and 3 English guys and we all wen to the game together.

When I walked in the first night the vibe was lively and people were hanging out in the common area. Breakfast was 5 euro and consisted of "breakfast meats", eggs, juices, coffee, white bread, butter, nutella and some fruit.

Overall, a great experience, only payed 15 euro, highly recommend this place.

Helpful staff and clean

This is a great hostel, it's very clean and the staff are generally quite helpful. The bar is open 24/7 and they have a BBQ night once a week which is great. We found the vibe to be a bit strange, it was quite cliquey and the actual travellers were not as friendly as most so I wouldn't recommend for solo travellers.

Very Helpful Staff!

I stayed at Amstel House for 2 nights and had a great stay, easy hostel, friendly staff and great rooms! But mostly I must thank the staff for being so helpful when I phoned them panicked that I had left my bracelet there - they've found it and posted it home to me straight away!! Can't thank Katrina enough for sorting it for me.

Very average hostel.

Firstly, I found the staff very lazy and not wanting to do anything. Sometimes sitting there instead of serving people.

Beds weren't very comfortable. Bathroom facilities are fine.

Location is quite far from the city centre, so if that's fine with you then it's ok. I enjoyed the walk in to the city and the hostel is also convenient for public transport options.
