Noisy Youth Hostel

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and did not get any sleep. The hotel was clean and breakfast was decent, but that's where the positives end. Between the paper-thin walls, squeeky floors, many drunk guests, and the chickens at the neighbor's house out back, it was impossible to get any sleep. Our "deluxe" room was so small that there was no place to lay down our suitcase and still move around. The sink was so small that we could not brush our teeth or wash our face.

The Amsterdam Beach Hotel in Zandvoort an zee is a clean and is in a great location directly across from the beach on the middle of dozens of great spots to shop, eat and sightsee. Restaurant and bar are very nice. Quality with good service.
Only complaint is standard rooms are very small. Good quality basic amenities and clean. Hallways leading to room were inspired by the works of F C Escher... can be very complex, depending on your room assignment.

A great location, right near the beach. The staff are friendly and reception and the bar are staffed 24/7.

My room was fine, however it had a strange view as from one of my windows I could see the beach but from my other window I was directly look into somebody's living room. The rooms have a bit of a rustic vibe and for the most part look fairly decent. Curtain rails are made with scaffolding and lights look like outdoor caged lights. The walls are mock wood panel (wallpaper). I can't help but think thigh that some of the choices were made on a tight budget.

There's no free parking here so we had to park in the open car park across the road. Luckily you can pay at the meter with a credit card.

A few minor issues. My colleagues room was like a sauna on the first evening of our stay and we had no idea why as there was no heating on and the corridors and my own room were fine. He borrowed an air con unit from the hotel but it was useless as it didn't come with an extraction hose and it was really noisy. The breakfast was also very average. The choice was extremely limited and the fresh orange juice tap seems to run out after every use.

Do not expect a good nights sleep

Being a 'shabby chic' hotel is not a problem for me but I do expect a good level of comfort - not so at at this hotel. The curtains did not fit properly so they let light in . The windows offered no sound barrier from the traffic outside. The bathroom had nowhere to put toilet bags etc. The shower flooded almost the entire bathroom floor. There was a torn modern chair. Carpets so thin on the stairs and hallways it may as well have been linolium. The bed was probably the best bit - this was acceptable. No parking. No lift and not even that cheap. 83 euro's excluding breakfast I think we could have got much better.

A beautiful place to stay

We traveled with a few families in December, and all stayed at the Amsterdam Beach Hotel. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, the staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable on what to do in Zandvoort. Rooms are clean and spacious, we decided to have the `sea view room', highly recommend it. The location is fabulous, with train and shops all with five minutes walk from the hotel. Of course you have the beach very close too, and we enjoyed the breakfast selection too.
Zandvoort has a village feel to it, with many restaurants and shops to view too. We will be back some day I hope.
