Good location for Okayama
travelover01on 29/08/2017 17:42Had a 4 day trip in Okayama and stayed in ANA's premium floor double room. Arrived from Okayama airport by bus, the trip taking only around 35 minutes. The bus stop is just in the middle between the hotel and train station. Once you get off the bus, you can either take an escalator or lift to a covered bridge which takes you to the hotel. Pity the hotel does not have direct connection to the bridge and you must take the escalator down to the ground floor to enter the hotel. Nevertheless, it is a covered footbridge from the train station which makes it convenient enough.
Check in was fast and staff was friendly. I was told that guests from premium floor could use the sky lounge for free from 3 to 7 p.m. each day and alcohol would be served from 5pm.
The hotel room had classic decor and had a coffee machine. For a double room, the size was a bit small though sufficient. We took a venture to the sky lounge and was glad we did. The lounge had nice view of the city from 20th floor since Okayama did not have too many high rise. Snacks are served with the drinks.
Had breakfast in the hotel. The variety of food though not great, is sufficient with a mix of Japanese and Western style food. Though they change the type of cold noodles served each day and the grilled fish one day, the rest seems to be the same over the 3 mornings. Could have some more variety. Can have omelette or waffles made to order which is good.
Overall, a good hotel which is convenient.
Good location!
Kate Kon 11/08/2017 11:04I stayed 2 nights last month.
It was really close to the train station so that I could access any places I wanted. And, I loved that there are some stuff for good sleep.
However, even though I already knew the size of the japanese hotel room, it was still very small. I am wondering why there's a window in the bathroom. I used my room alone, so actually I didn't care. (Is there a way to cover it?) And, I had breakfast twice. It was quite good. But I think it may not be enough for foreigners who are from western countries.
Comfortable and convenient
Shaoweion 07/08/2017 00:10Recently renovated rooms; next to Okayama station - yet quiet; helpful staff
Had a couple incidents with less than professional staff - accusing me of making the mistake of requesting a Japanese newspaper when I told them the wrong kind of newspaper was brought to my room; an issue with no irons being available (in the end both issues were resolved within an hour); would be more convenient to be able to enter hotel from 2nd floor, which is connected to station by a pedestrian bridge; would be great to have fitness room in hotel or access to one outside of hotel; also re Chase IHG credit card I used didn't recognize charge as an IHG purchase (somewhat resolved when I called Chase)
Location is great.... Cleaniness needs improvement
shirley b lon 06/08/2017 05:30We booked 2 rooms for the stay, both in the premium floors. We are expecting larger rooms and better quality.
But my girls, who are staying in the next room were suffering from serious insect bites, within 30 mins of room stay.
We sprayed with the mosquito repellent, but still no help.
We requested for help from front desk, and they quickly bring us the insecticide for use in room. We noted the hotel is fully booked hence cannot request for another room.
Seems there are fleas in the room, which is really rare for a star-rated city hotel. That's said, the hotel staff are friendly and willing to help.
We went for its buffet breakfast
raymondc814on 24/07/2017 09:16We didn't stay at this hotel - but we knew this hotel offers very good buffet breakfast, that's why we went in and paid for the meal. They have a good range of choices including the Japanese dishes--we absolutely love these (Not every hotel offers JP dishes)! You should try the soy sauce rice with egg yolks paste... and this is all worth your money.
