What People are saying

Beautiful setting and amazing food

ELOM19on 21/08/2017 08:51

I have just returned from an 11 night stay in the Anahita with my husband and teenage girls. We stayed in a three bedroom apartment with view over the golf course. The apartment was very spacious and perfect for a family stay with space with everyone to chill and relax. My only criticism was the lack of kitchen equipment- it had exactly 4 of everything which we found rather annoying!! The towels are also a little mean for such a resort and could do with being larger and more luxurious!! The setting is fantastic with beautiful grounds to explore which are looked after beautifully. The food in the main restaurant was fantastic - a different theme each night and live cooking which was always perfect. The restaurant staff were very helpful and attentive and made you feel very welcome. The pool area is stunning although it was very windy and changeable so this area was quite quite. The water sports on offer were good and the staff very helpful, it is definitely worth visiting the island to get more sun and a more sheltered aspect - it is also fun taking the kids on the host and golf buggy to get there!! I think this is a great resort to visit with a family and gives you the option of catering for your own lunches. In all fairness I think it is a very good 4.5 star resort but I don't think it offers the luxury of a 5 star resort if that is what you are looking for. For example the reception area could definitely be upgraded. We loved our stay and would definitely return and recommend it for a family stay liking for great food and s beautiful setting. I definitely recommend you hire a car and explore the island it's amazing!!

Lovely but you'd expect more for the amount you're paying

Anahita was the second hotel we stayed at in Mauritius. We're a family of 6, and we stayed there for 4 nights.

The property is quite beautiful and very big (so big that it also includes the Four Seasons). You can order a golf car to drop you off to breakfast every morning or anywhere else at the resort. We had a 3-bedroom suite with a pool. The suite was okay, not as nice as the property itself, it was just okay. The pool quite small for a 3-bedroom suite, very cold too, not quite private as well. There constantly ants in the kitchen, it was annoying. The cutlery in the suite were enough for 4 people max, when the suite fit 6. That was annoying during dinner as well. The shower went from very cold to very hot in an instant, it was tricky to balance. The master bedroom had a very nice view though and the beds were comfortable. They gave us a tour to the rest of the resort and we saw one of the big villas, which was actually gorgeous but quite too expensive.

Breakfast was okay, nice but too great. The staff are super amazing though. All very helpful, it was my sister's birthday and they surprised her and brought her a cake and sang her happy birthday and made her feel so special. The dinner was better, they had good gourmet burgers, but quite expensive though.

We arranged a private boat trip with the hotel, we negotiated a price with them, which was still very high, but they promised us a once-in-a-life-time super-luxurious out-of-this-world experience, but we were very very disappointed. It was not even worth half the amount we paid. It was a quite nice trip in general, but very disappointing because we did not get the luxury we were promised. The boat was not spacious, there was not a big comfortable resting area like we were promised, in fact, it was not comfortable at all, and it was not clean either. The bathroom was hell. The food was okay, but not that amazing and not luxurious whatsoever. The staff were friendly and professional but that was it. They even made us pay extra for activities that we thought would come with the package. The only thing that made us feel better is that the weather was on our side, and the ocean is exceptionally beautiful. We even voiced our disappointment and our regret to have booked this trip with them, but it didn't seem like anyone cared. We even cancelled the plan to book a dolphin trip with them and decided to arrange it on our own, and it was literally half their price and so much fun!

There's a boat that takes you to the Ile Aux Cerfs island. They have a private Golf field there and an exceptionally beautiful private beach. Every time we went there, we felt like it was all ours because it was always empty. The water is very very clear and clean. It was just beautiful. My little sister was swimming in the beach and stepped on this thing that was very spiny, and her foot got swollen, which needed medical attention. The doctor they provided us was very nice, very professional, and took care of it quickly. His fee was quite expensive, but the important thing is that he took care of the pain. The resort then sent a get-well-soon fruit basket, which was a very nice gesture!

Overall, beautiful property, very very very friendly staff, but the service was not up-to standards nor the amount you're paying. I don't see us going there again..

Beautiful

We stayed in a villa here in this location and we were not disappointed. Lovely location, very clean and safe. Staff can't do enough for you and the pool is so nice. We ate in the restaurant on the complex and the food was out of this world, cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend.

Great accommodation, food, golf and relaxation

We made the 12 hour flight from the UK to visit a destination on our 'Bucket list' - Mauritius. Great decision and also choosing the Anahita Resort was a definite plus. From arriving at the airport, staying at the resort and playing golf, the warm welcome and service from everyone was second to none.

Our primary reason for staying in 'winter' was to play golf. (Thanks to David Jordan at Elegant Golf for arranging the accommodation and all the golf.) We enjoyed unlimited golf, alternating between Anahita/Four Seasons and Ile Aux Cerf which is a short boat ride away. Both courses compliment each other and are challenging in different ways. Anahita more open, but wind from the sea makes a few holes on the back 9 'interesting' but compensated by some stunning views. Ile aux Cerfs has tighter fairways and feels like you are playing in a botanical garden - again with outstanding views. Both courses are kept in excellent condition and golf and greens staff are friendly, helpful and do their utmost to ensure you enjoy your game.

We stayed in a ground floor Prestige suite overlooking the Anahita 9th green. The Suite was very spacious and well appointed with all amenities - fitted kitchen including washer/dryer, large lounge dinner, 2 bedrooms, dressing room, bathroom with bath & shower. The outside patio extended the full width of the Suite with dining, seating, plunge pool and 2 sun beds. The maid and turn down service ensured the apartment was spotless.

The Staff gave an outstanding quality of service and all the Chefs are passionate about the individual meals they prepare for you. Food was exceptional. We mainly had our evening meal in Origine Restaurant with a different theme every evening. If there wasn't anything you liked, Shakeel would gladly organise an alternative meal. Nush was very helpful at breakfast and lunch. The Il Forno Italian Restaurant served great food and again with exceptional service. In fact all the staff (without exception) in every part of the resort, ensured your needs were met and greeted you warmly every time you saw them.

We visited end of June/beginning of July for 14 nights, which is 'winter' and low season, but ideal for golf and warm sun for relaxing afterwards. Both courses were very quiet, so no waiting on the tee!! Anahita has a good size infinity pool and beach with water sports facilities. Also a private beach on Ile aux Cerfs a short boat ride away. Origine, Bliss and Signature Restaurants overlook the sea with the Italian Restaurant at the Anahita/Four Seasons Golf Club overlooking the 18th green.

The Mauritian people are warm, welcoming, helpful and friendly. Food and accommodation amazing. Excellent service from everyone in every aspect of the resort. Plus-Anahita is ideally situated for both golf courses!

All in all - a great place to visit and surpassed top marks in every way. We hope to return soon.

Just one night
