Good for a night/weekend
moonrabbit71on 24/08/2017 18:27Needed an inexpensive room ,one night for a quick get away with the family. It was definitely inexpensive using hotels.com, but you get what you pay for. It didn’t look bad pulling up, its proximity to everything was great, but it’s old and in desperate need of a remodel. The bath plug was broken off and the shower was dingy from age. The bed was clean but uncomfortable, and extra blankets stiff! The lamp was unplugged and I had to move the bed to do it myself! The service upon check in wasn’t…no hello or smile, no thank you just fill this out, I need your credit card and your room is upstairs! The guy looked like he rolled out of bed and it was 6pm. The view from the room was of a gravel parking lot for maintenance trucks. The website said free breakfast, it needs to say continental to clarify its only muffins, cereal and bagels. But if you want to stay in St. Augustine and close to it all and not spend a lot, the ac did work and the room has fridge and was cleaned.
Great Inn
poppop57on 16/08/2017 02:09The room was clean and spacious. The air worked great. The manager was wonderful. I love the mom and pop hotels that make you feel that you are an important guest. It was close to several restaurants, and the free light breakfast was great. I am coming back the next time I visit St. Augustine. As others have mentioned the hotel is off the beaten track and very quiet.
The only place I'll stay in St. Augustine!
Andrea Bon 15/08/2017 20:52I have been going to St. Augustine since I was a child (a couple dozen times at least) and I have stayed at Anastasia Inn 4 times in the past 2 years as a solo traveler (several nights each stay) and will be returning again soon! Best rates in St. Aug, very nice staff, super clean. Traveling alone, I feel safe staying there. It's location is convenient to historic district, the lighthouse, Alligator Farm and St. Augustine beach. Several places to eat nearby. Breakfast is simple with cereals, bagels, muffins, toast, milk and juice but it holds you until you can dine at a yummy seafood restaurant later in the day! Nice little pool to cool off in. I am definitely a fan of Anastasia Inn!!!
Great Little Place to Stay
crismicportlandon 11/08/2017 21:36This place is off the beaten track, just over the bridge from the touristy part of town. The room was very clean and quiet. We had a very restful stay. Walking distance to a couple of local bars and restaurants.
The only drawback was the office, we waited around for 15-20 minutes in the office for the office clerk to come in. We rang the bell, but to no avail. One couple was looking for a room for the night and finally got tired of waiting around and just left. We even tried calling the office from our cell phone and got no answer. Luckily we had already checked in. It was the middle of the afternoon, so I don't know why there wasn't anyone working in the office - glad we didn't have an emergency.
Great location, spacious room, good price
Iveta Aon 04/08/2017 13:29We stayed here only for one night while visiting St. Augustine on our road trip.
After we checked in (a little bit earlier) a man entered the room which felt like if anybody could get in. When I asked he explained he was a pest control contractor and was told that our room was not occupied. Obviously, it was a communication error but not a great situation if you are getting changed in your room :-D
The hotel is situated across the Bridge of Lions but still well within walking distance to the Castillo de San Marcos etc., and there was plenty of places to eat or drink in the area. Beach is nearby too.
Our room was spacious, furnishing was a bit dated but everything clean and working. We liked the sink area – there was a lot of space around to put all toiletries, snacks, drinks etc.
There was a small pool that we didn’t use but would do if we stayed longer.
The complimentary breakfast set us up for a drive the next day – just a simple free breakfast in the reception area to grab. There wasn’t anywhere to sit down with it but it didn’t matter to us.
Parking was free and big enough – we didn’t struggle to find a space.
If we ever revisit St. Augustine we will consider this hotel again – excellent location and great price!
