What People are saying

Superb B&B

Martin Ton 27/07/2017 09:52

Stayed here 2 nights from 26/07 .Could not fault this lovely place , great hosts , superb breakfast and a fantastically comfortable new king size bed !! Add to this allocated parking and you'll not get better value anywhere in Dartmouth .

Great Band B with lovely hosts

SportEnthusiastson 12/07/2017 17:54

we stayed for 4 nights in the deluxe king room.
very small shower room but perfectly adequate and no problem for us..
unfortunately the bed was not very comfortable , this was due to a memory foam mattress topper which remembered someone else! However a new mattress was being delivered the day we left. Barbara and John were delightful and we so enjoyed having breakfast in the kitchen, whilst they did the cooking, talking with them and the other guests. There was parking at the rear of the premises which was a real bonus around Dartmouth. The town and harbour were a short walk down hill. However for the less mobile its a very steep hill back and the B & B has a lot of steps/stairs .
Nice extras --fridge ,fresh milk, biscuits, water. The breakfasts were very good with a choice of small or large full English. croissants also available.
Good bakers , small supermarket and French cake shops just down the hill.
Good location for boat and train trips.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay--Our thanks to Barbara and John
sadly it would have been 5/5 except for the bed. We would go there again.

A beautiful town and a comfortable B & B

John & Barbara were the most gracious hosts during our two night stay. They provided us with delicious breakfasts each morning and the banter between us was most enjoyable. Our bedroom was small but comfortable - the en suite bathroom was very small but that is to be expected in Dartmouth where houses for centuries have been built upwards due to the terrain. There were parts of the house which were not accessible to us which was entirely understandable, but it meant that we missed the chance to sit with our hosts in a lounge or other room to chat and get more familiar with the village and their recommendations about what we should do while we were there.

Just a wonderful place

I was visiting the town with my son for a weekend and this place is just amazing. There was parking at the back of the premises and the owner came out to meet us and help with the bags. We had a lovely big ensuite room each and the breakfast was really delicious, with lots of choice and the cooked breakfast freshly made to your requirements. It's a short walk into Dartmouth but coming back, its up quite a steep hill. Well worth a stay

Best B&B yet!

And we have stayed in many all round the country. As previous reviews have said the hosts, Barbara and John, are charming. The welcome is warm, help to carry in bags is offered and your car is snugly parked and can be ignored as you can easily walk down and back from town unless you have quite severe mobility problems.
Our room was the first floor double and was lovely. Plenty of storage space, a huge comfortable bed, particularly good linens and pillows, quiet fridge and lots of little treats that surprisingly were replenished each day. We appreciated the decor that was lightly themed and the decorative touches were just enough to be interesting but also left you clear space for your own items.
The shower room was small but perfectly formed and there was lots of hot water, nice toiletries and fluffy towels.
Breakfast was a highlight and we recommend the haddock and poached egg although all we saw looked very appetising. Barbara is a self effacing cook but she gets it spot on and John serves with good humour. They are great company but never intrusive.
It may sound too good to be true but just give them a try and see!!
