Wouldn't stay again ...
ToniMin21on 01/03/2016 23:24The location of the hotel was ideal and the room and bathroom were quite clean but that's where the positives end.
The room was very small and wrongly sold to us as a double when in reality we had two single beds pushed next to each other. The staff we encountered were rude and didn't seem willing to help or give guidance to tourists... Not a nice atmosphere.
I wouldn't return to this hotel.
Great location
Grace Mon 02/05/2015 17:01We visited for a long weekend great location very easy walking to all the sites of Maastricht. Simple, clean rooms with free tea & coffee. Very loud outside in the square at nighttime though we weren't well rested my friend heard through earplugs too!
Disappoints
Roger Von 29/01/2015 19:00We stayed for 3 nights. After the first night room was not made up/cleaned. On 4th floor without lift. No reception early morning or late evening. Complained but no apology. Never coming back. Too expensive for what it is. Family room only three beds, whilst ample space for 4.
Excellent stay
Peeron 17/07/2014 16:41We stayed here for an Andre Rieu concert so had the full package of hotel, dinner and concert on the Vrijthof square. All was excellent: great food (even on serving 3 courses to 150 people in 2.5 hours) and nice service (maybe sometimes a bit quick and to the point but still friendly; perfectly understandable on a massively busy day for them). One comment though: during the evening the brand of Pinot Grigio ran out and was exchanged for another brand. Sorry: that's just not on, you can't do that.
For the rest: if you think of this as a restaurant with (very nice and clean) rooms as supposed to a hotel you will not be disappointed (who cares about checking in at the bar, in fact if you want to be picky it wasn't actually at the bar but around the corner of it so technically a separate area). Currently breakfast is being served right across the Vrijthof at Britannique which was fantastic.
Great Price, Great Experience, Great Room
snoobadoo22on 27/05/2014 07:05I don't know what all of the annoying reviews are about concerning this hotel; I stayed there when I was in Maastricht this last time, and I thought it was great. The room was spacious and had a lovely hardwood floor, excellent plasma screen television, the bed was comfortable with lovely clean sheets, and there were complimentary chocolates with my coffee. The bathroom was all state of the art and up to date; excellent fixtures and plenty of hot water. The location is perfect; only 1o minutes from here to the Jan van Eyck Academy, the Bonnefanten Museum, and any other point of interest. So you had to go up a narrow flight of stairs to get to your room. Ever been to the Netherlands? That's the case with all the stairs; it's part of the Dutch sense of design, all the houses are the same. And sure you had to check in at the bar. What's the problem with that? The barmaid is incredibly friendly, and you'll want to get familiar with the bar and the restaurant anyway because they are about the best in Maastricht, and that's no exaggeration. This town isn't known for being a culinary Mecca, take my word for it, but at Anna's restaurant you will get far away from the french fry and mayo crowd. I have nothing but great stuff to say about Anna's Restaurant and Hotel. The cheap price is only part of what makes it such a great deal.
