Great location, bad hotel
copace1on 16/06/2017 01:16This hotel is located in an amazing city. I love St. Malo and this hotel is inside the city wall. However, the room was one of the worst hotel rooms I have stayed in. It was dirty and small. I took a shower as fast as I could just to get out of there! It had an odd smell and the air conditioner did not work. The hotel is split into two different buildings on either side of the street. I was in the side opposite the reception desk. The other side seemed to be a little better. If you are not planning on being in your room (which you should not), this hotel may work. I would look around to try and find something a little nicer if the price is right. Even with a less than average hotel, my stay in St. Malo was wonderful.
Dated but In a Beautiful City
ACeitson 12/06/2017 17:31The only thing this hotel has going for it is its location. It is dated and really need some work, not to mention a better cleaning staff.
The breakfast was good, however and we were able to take some fruit with us for a mid-morning snack on our drive to Mont. St. Michel.
It is in a perfect location within the old city and I am glad we stayed here because of that.
We did book a family room and they didn't have any available, so we were split up into 2 rooms on 2 separate floors.. It was okay for us, as we were all adults.
Cheap and convenient
AndyJerseyon 08/06/2017 23:35basic room, no frills, very dated, sloping floor, small lift, close to all amenities, not for a romantic weekend, should be a lot better considering the amount of business it gets through its doors - luckily St Malo is great !
Hotel needs some immediate work
lou Lon 30/05/2017 16:45The hotel has two buildings, the main hotel and the annex directly across the street. We were given a room in the annex, which has no lift, so it would be okay if you have no heavy luggage. The room is good size on second floor and window opens to the street. Street is quiet during the day but quite noisy at night. The location of the hotel is great, inside the wall (intra-muros), so it is a short walk to anywhere. The hotel appeared to have some upgrades as the door handles and the lock look new, but the door frame close to the lock is damaged but not repaired. The bathroom is in horrible shape with mold on the ceiling and all the way to the top of the door. Mold is a health hazard and this should be repaired without delay. Front desk was helpful and ordered taxi for us without any problem.
A lot better now
Honor Won 29/05/2017 09:26I stayed here overnight in May 2016 and was not happy with the standard of accomadation. Stayed overnight May this year and was pleasantly surprised by my room and the Breakfast on offer.Looks like there has been some renovations.
