What People are saying

Disappointed. A nice hotel but completely overpriced if you stay for a week-end

Christine Pon 18/04/2017 10:09

We spent two nights at the Anova Hotel during the Ski D'Or, a competition that brings more than 800 skiers in the resort so a busy time. We did enjoy the hotel as it is nicely decorated, the staff is friendly and it benefits from a nice view and great location on the slopes. But, as we pointed out to the owner before leaving, we found it far too expensive and we really did not like to be charged for the balconies and to have to pay 20 Euros per person to access the spa. The final bill is similar to a 5 stars but the experience is more in line with a 3 stars which brings a bit of frustration.

Nice hotel in new area

The good stuff: cool rooms, great terrace on our rooms, amazing view of the Front de Neige. Liked the bar and lobby area, liked the functional feel of the dining room a little less. Ski in ski out if there is more snow. The less good: Old fashioned wifi codes needed - that only lasted 30 minutes to get on-line - then it was slow. Staff ok, felt a bit slow sometimes - perhaps slightly understaffed. The breakfast, whilst great that they laid it on early for the ski racers, it was very limited and no fresh fruit - unforgivable!! The resto was good, and the service good too, especially worth noting as they were busy.

Great stay!

This location is perfect for skiing/snowboarding in the French Alps. You can buy your lift tickets right at the hotel, and there's a rental shop in the lower level. Ski lockers are available, too. Ski-in, ski-out.

We stayed in a junior suite for the first couple of nights. Perfect for a family! There was a bedroom downstairs with a door that closes (privacy!) as well as the bathroom. The bathroom does have a weird frosted window that leads to the bedroom, which kind of freaked us all out at first, but you really can't see through it. I'm guessing it's there to allow natural light into the bathroom. There was also a nice balcony overlooking the slopes. Upstairs is a loft area with 2 twin beds - perfect for our teenagers.

Because of availability, we then switched to 2 rooms for the next night. Both rooms were nice. The "superior" room was very large and roomy, although the regular room was also spacious.

We booked with breakfast included and really enjoyed it each morning.

Everyone who works at the hotel is friendly and helpful.

Good location Good staff

We stayed at the Anova hotel 5-12 March 2017 on a skiing holiday. Let's start with the not so good. No tea and coffee facilities in the room. No internet in the room. Limited TV channels. Room was very dark. The Wifi in the hotel was incredibly slow, sometimes taking 20 minutes to download basic stuff that takes 2 seconds in the UK. The worst this is that the hotel smells of rotten eggs as you walk in. Probably due to the spa.
Positives- Staff were friendly. Nice terrace. Easy access to the slopes. Did not eat in the hotel but food looked good. Good ski lockers. Would I stay here again? Not unless they fixed the 'not so good things'

3.5 Stars

The hotel does everything it says on the tin, but it could be better. The obvious pros as a ski location is its location. Right on the hill and ski in - ski out and it is comfortable and warm. And when we went the price was good for the standard of hotel.

The negatives are that perhaps it doesn't quite hit the mark. The rooms are cool, but almost too cool, so the sparse set up means you are slightly less comfortable. The wet room bathroom works, but it is almost unnecessary.
The food was good, but not great and after 5 days the breakfast was perhaps a bit repetitive and lacking for choice.
Service was generally good, although there was some attitude from some staff members, which was admittedly balanced by good service from others.

Also, there appears to be a smell every where you go in the hotel - each area has a different smell. In many areas it was like fresh paint, except the paintwork was not new.

In summary, I would give the hotel a 3.5. It was certainly not a bad stay, but 4 stars is a bit high based on my experience.
