What People are saying

Quite unique B&B

coord47on 18/07/2017 22:46

Stayed 4 nights. Wow. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Tiled floor. Comfortable bed. Plentifull breakfast on the roof balcony. Very walkable to/from Rome City if you're fit. 1.25 miles from the Vatican. Secure.

Second stay and still loving it

YDR17on 18/07/2017 18:47

This was our second stay after 3 years and we are still in love with this hotel. Rooms are big, bathrooms on the small size. Staff is friendly, area is quiet and it is only a 20 minutes walk from the Vatican. The downfall are the hill and the steps coming back but you can always take a taxi and it is not their fault. We will be back whenever we come back to Rome.

Fantastic!!!

Just got back today!!! Me and my partner Simon, stayed here for our first trip to rome!! When we arrived we was greeted by a member of staff, our room was still being cleaned as we arrived earlier then expected, so we sat up in the terrace and enjoyed the sunshine. We only waited 5/10 minutes and was shown to our room. We was given a welcome gift with champagne, chocolate, cheese, fresh oranges and tomatoes which were lovely. Our room was very spacious and the decor was very beautiful. We had a comfortable stay. The hotel isn't close to the centre of rome, but you can reach with a 10 minuite walk to the metro rail!! We enjoyed walking. One day we walked 4 miles back to our hotel from near the vatacan ... if your fit and like walking I strongly suggest Google maps and walk!! The hotel is on a hill so walking back up could be difficult for some people but we didn't have a problem. The restaurant that is just around the corner from the hotel is fantastic, it doesn't look much from inside but don't let that put you off ... the food is beautiful.. We ate here 2 times ... the first night I had the carbonara (which was very tastey) my partner had a pizza which was a proper Italian pizza ... the second night we had a starter for 2 which was meats, cheeses, breads and olives ... followed by Tagalia Ragu .. the pasta was fresh and the sauce was just amazing!! .. the prices were very good and the staff are polite and helpful. Plenty of Italian people eat here so must be good. The breakfast in the morning from the hotel was very nice ... fresh orange & Apple juices with plenty of coffee, meats, cheeses and some yummy pastries. If you want a luxury stay in rome this is the place!! Will 100% coming back with friends

Beware! The rooms pictured can be highly misleading.

I would advise against booking this hotel. The pictures are not representative of all of the rooms - certainly not the one I was initially given, nor another I was offered. I booked a double and was looking forward to staying in the rooms that are pictured, in a beautiful old building. Instead, I was given a room in the front garden of the hotel with far inferior decor, a very dated bathroom and altogether dim feel to it.
When I pointed out that this was not what I had thought I was booking, as it didn't match the pictures, I was told by the very friendly receptionist that he was really sorry, he agreed it wasn't fair to sell rooms by only picturing the best ones, but the hotel was full and everyone else had already checked in so he couldn't move me. He could, however, show me the other garden room (there are two), and I thought that one had a slightly better bathroom so switched. He also brought me a bottle of wine and crips by way of apology. I said I understood his position but was very disappointed. He grumbled about his boss and how unfair it was, and I left it there - no point complaining further if there was nothing he could do.
I could hear all comings and goings through the front gate from my room; two women checked in a couple of hours after me and got a room in the main building. Maybe they hadn't pre-paid like I had, so there was more incentive to please them. Anyway, it was salt in the wound for me.
Being stuck out the garden meant I didn't feel like I was staying in this hotel at all. Maybe the rooms in the main building are nice, but I don't know. I won't be returning to find out.
The location is convenient for people attending events at the nearby Rome Cavalieri (known locally as the Hilton), so I suppose it will always fill up, but they should be honest about the rooms people are booking in their promotional pictures.

Stylish and friendly

We Stayed here for 6 nights. It's only a small guest house but is lovely and stylish. Well worth the money.
It is not in the city centre of Rome but is within walking distance of the Vatican. There are plenty of public transport facilities nearby so this helps when wanting to get around.
I wouldn't recommend for anyone with walking difficulties due to being up a very steep hill or steep steps to climb.
The staff were very friendly and always willing to help.
The breakfast is simple but more than enough for us, it is served on the roof terrace which is lovely.
Our room was huge, we had the garden based room which had a porch area, 2 rooms one of which had a sofa and other had the bed, then the bathroom with bath and shower.
One area they need to improve is storage in the rooms. We had a small wardrobe which held the safe and the fridge!!! (Fridge is noisy).
Definitely recommend this lovely place to anyone willing to be out of the way of the busy city centre.
