What People are saying

Fabubous service, beautiful setting !!! Great for AT through-hikers :-)

When I researched my trip, I came across this hotel by recommendation of a through-hiking friend, personally I fell in love with the picture of the main house, which reminded me of a European mansion. It is absolutely gorgeous !!!! (Currently being renovated by caring, loving hands).
I got to stay in a King room with great view of the lake, directly on the marina, which would make one want to stay on the grounds and observe boats, birds and fish.... there's also a wonderful lawn right on the water, very inviting. Large parts of my day however were planned hikes, so I didn't get to spend too much time on the lawn...
Breakfast was included in the price and arrived at my door personally delivered with a smile by Mike (who also functions as your concierge and shuttle driver as needed) in a huge wicker basket, very B & B style.... I was blown away, because everything looked so pretty. Warm croissants, butter, jelly, cereal, milk, orange juice, the perfect start to anyone's day !
Hiker services (shuttle) are available, they can get you to and from the trail, the closest spot is on top of Bellvale Ridge on Hwy17A, about 3 miles away, free of charge. Other AT intersect or access points will be at a nominal fee, and I did use this service several time during my stay. I am very grateful for the friendly and cheerful disposition of the staff, the wonderful tasty breakfast and the clean room and comfortable bed. What an awesome place this is, clearly an undiscovered gem !
Looking forward to returning really soon.

Old-school family run hotel

For those who feel the hotel industry has gotten too standardized and commercial, this place is proof the unreconstructed family-run hotel is still with us. The location is great, right on the lake, and the bathroom was recently renovated and clean. I also appreciated the mini-fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. The decor of the room is somewhere between grandma's house and thrift store - there were actual lace-trimmed sheets on the bed, for example. For AT hikers, it does also offer laundry facilities that you can use (possibly for a small fee). Not the kind of place I'd want to go on a romantic weekend, say for example, but it was a comfortable and homey place and it's not a bad choice if you particularly appreciate sitting outside watching the lake.

Old and Dirty

I stayed at the cottage with my family of 4 and my 2 parents for a weekend we were in Warwick for a wedding. This cottage was old and run down. The ceilings were covered with bugs. Wifi did not work the first day. One of the locks to the front door was broken. The carpets were ragged and dirty. The kitchen was dim and grimy. Bed sheets throughout appeared at least 40 years old and not clean. The mattress on the king bed was lumpy and springy. There is a strong odor of mold throughout. My sister stayed at the Inn, her room contained a pile of dirty towels on the floor upon arrival. The manager was unhelpful in resolving our issues. The Inn's office is decrepit and dirty. There are no standards of cleanliness or freshness at this property. It was not cheap either. The rate for the cottage was $350/night. This was expensive and disgusting. Avoid at all cost. Breakfast was supposedly complementary but we never received.

Hidden Gem

We really enjoyed our stay here. The owner was very nice and helped recommend some places to check out. The room was very comfy, charming antique style and we loved the large jacuzzi tub. The breakfast in bed was a very nice touch.
The views were everything, loved being right on the lake, watching the boats go by and lots of ducks and birds. We also enjoyed several restaurants that were right on the water. Overall, it's a very relaxing place and we will definitely be back.

HOW TO WRECK A VACATION

Robert Mon 18/08/2016 00:35

We Stayed at Anton's on The Lake The week oif Ausgust first thru the 5TH. The only reason we stayed that long was because that was how much was prepaid. We found mouse droppings in the kitchen drawers and on the floor where they stored the dishes. We told the manager about it. They cleaned up the drawers and the dishes and the next morning there was mouse droppings on the sink. There was no maid service for the first three days. As it was a cabin, manager said it was limited maid service. We did not know this when we booked the cabin. The mattress was so old an filthy.the springs were coming through so they put a four inch mattress cover of foam on top of it. That did not work. They put a washer and dryer in the closet on the main floor. Therefore; there was no closet to hang your clothes. The second floor had no closet just an old dirty dresser. The third floor had a closet but was filled with old mattress and blankets. When we booked the cabin, we had no idea that it has steps. On the third floor you could not put an adult up there cause you could not stand up. Also, the mattress was on the floor and no box spring. the fee for this cabin was 350.00 dollars a day. The manager was extremely rude to us. Whenever we made a request, he got annoyed. We were supposed to stay for two weeks but we could not stay in tht filth.
