Old fashioned hotel
luluchanon 23/06/2012 06:46I stayed here for 3 nights for visiting my relatives. Yukuhashi has few choices of hotel and this was less than 10 min walking distance from Yukuhashi train station. It might be hard to find at the beginning. This area is so different from typical modern town. It is rural but nice. The hotel is very old fashioned and small. Though it was a non-smoking room, there was a distinct smell of cigarette. The room door was not the typical modern door (magnet type). And they gave us key! Old fashioned key. Even with the lights on, it was slightly darker than the current hotels. The bed was small for 2 adults. The bathroom is smaller and using beige color made it look older looking. You can see "aging" in several parts of the room. It might not be suitable for older people as there's a big step from the room floor to the bathroom. It's inconvenient.
THere's a coin laundry on the 4th floor which the hotel provided washing powder. Unfortunately, the dryer didn't work nicely as it didn't dry the clothes enough that it took more than 2 hrs. I chose the plan with breakfast: Japanese/western. Japanese consist of rice/miso soup/salad/fish/natto/etc. It is heavy breakfast. Even the western one. The receptionist will ask you daily which kind you want and they'll provide a coupon.
Behind the restaurant, there's a hair salon. Nearby (towards the station), there's a fresh grocery stores/pharmacy. 20min or more (walking), there's a huge mall called "you me town." Around the corner of the hotel, there'a 7-eleven convenient store.
