The location was good but my room was a bit warm
Quack Hon 05/05/2017 06:25The location was good, less than 5 minutes walk to Hosui Susukino subway Exit 6. Do not mix up the two stations: one is blue line Hosui Susukino, another is green line Susukino. I was there in May, beginning of summer and it felt too warm in my room and the windows cannot be opened. Other than that, everything is fine.
No frills, but good value for price paid
winkumsmomon 10/02/2016 00:26We were a little nervous when we snapped up two rooms at this hotel for our family of 5 shortly before the Sapporo Snow Festival. All the other hotels we considered were already booked. However, this hotel turned out to be perfectly pleasant and adequate for us! Be advised that it is very no-frills. The rooms and bathroom are tiny, with just the very basics (there was a refrigerator that took up a lot of scarce storage space, but ours did not appear to work). If you are not looking for a luxurious experience, however, this is a perfectly fine option. Our rooms were clean, and even though we took smoking rooms because that is all they had available, the rooms had clearly been cleaned and aired, and were not a problem even for we non-smokers. We were also pleasantly surprised at how big and comfortable the "single" beds were - they were larger than your standard twin size - and our two younger kids shared a bed without any problem. The hotel's location is very convenient: less than a minute's walk to the subway station entrance, and an easy two-stop ride to Sapporo Station. If you prefer to walk, it is a few minutes' walk to Ramen Alley and the block where the the ice sculptures are located in Susukino during the snow festival. The reception staff was perfectly pleasant (although we didn't see much of them once we checked in). While this might not have been our first choice if we had been able to find a more upscale hotel in a similar price range, we were thrilled to get a hotel room at all at the last minute for the snow festival, and were perfectly satisfied with our stay!
Nice hotel in Hokkaido.
LRY4on 09/02/2016 04:23We stayed here on Feb 7-9, 2016. It is a really nice hotel. For foreigners like my wife and I, we were pleased that this is a small but quaint hotel. the bathroom has good selection of complementary tooth paste, towels, razors, comb or brush, shampoo and conditioner. It does take a few minutes to figure how turn on the water with the knob in the middle and the knob on the right is to adjust the temperature. The toilet has a flushing cleansing action for No. 2 and a bidet. The cleansing action is refreshing to say the least. I did not use it before. We were on the fourth floor and had a view of the street. The thermostatic controls are on the night stand and two very convenient outlets are just below the desk table in the middle. They provide nice slippers and a hapi coat bathrobe which we didn't use.
The bed was a small double bed and the pillows are very flat.
The hotel offers breakfast for a little more and it is worth it. We had the breakfast both days. Just remember to bus your own trays to the shelving area in the middle after you are through. The three ladies behind the counter are so sweet.
Susukino train station exit no. 6 in just a few blocks away on the same side of the street.
Overall, I think this was a great find and in easy walking distance to the underground to Sapporo. We saw the Susukino Ice Festivals as well as the Sapporo Snow Sculptures. They were very artistic and nice. Worth the trip of flying into Sapporo to see the ice festivals.
