What People are saying

Far, far, far from station

jorgeotavioon 08/07/2016 15:53

In booking.com we show this hotel close the station but it is wrong. Close the station is another APA.
The hotel is expensive for your locations and the money taht you saved to stay there you will need to spend in a taxi.
This hotel is 35 minutes walking from station or 10 minutes by taxi. And if you have plans to travel to Snow Fall and Alpine Route you will have a problem to stay in central station early.
You have a 7Eleven at the side of the hotel and have a spa.....but the spa is not inside the hotel. You need to cross a street behind the hotel to go to the spa, but the spa is good howhever i did not like to cross the street to went to it.
I will not stay again there because the most important thing in Japan hotel is stay at the side of any station and it is not the case of this APA.

Faulty Towers with a handy 7-Eleven

jcosalvadoron 25/05/2016 14:16

When planning my second trip to Japan, I decided to make the most of the JR rail pass and visit less well known areas which were to put it politely, a bit off the tourist path. Using booking.com, the map on my phone showed a hotel conveniently located a few minutes walk from the train station - which is a relief with a heavy bag. We turned up at the hotel as indicated on the map, and all looked promising. Nice restaurants nearby, clean lobby, and the promise of a good night's sleep. But no. Our hotel from the same hotel group was actually 3 minutes away. 3 minutes you say? No problem. "Oh, sorry no, 30 minutes away". That was an optimistic pace as well. This was the beginning of my nightmare. In the night time drizzle I walked back to the train station and requested a taxi. Whereupon I was taken to the end of town. Initial impressions again looked promising - from the outside. Once inside I was greeted by a curious smell. I can't really describe it but if pushed it would be a mixture of boiled cabbage, air freshener and super strength cleaning products. Interesting. The chairs in the lobby were non ironic or cool retro. Just old and tired. After being rinsed financially for 180 euros (breakfast not included sorry) we were pointed in the direction of the elevators which seemed programmed to try and close their doors onto you. And from there it got worse. Having stayed in quite a few hotels within Japan there are three things which are a constant. Spotlessly clean facilities, toilets with more technology than NASA, and polite staff. The staff here were indeed polite. But that was it. The toilet was Laika orbit standard. The carpets had weird stains on them. This always worries me..it makes me want to wave a black light over every thing. See how much DNA has been left behind over the years. The beds however WERE clean. And pretty comfy. It also proudly advertised that they had BBC world service by way of a sticker on the TV. What was even more depressing was that once again my raised hopes were cruelly dashed. BBC world service was dubbed - the language I COULD understand just an inaudible mumble in the background. It DID have a spa though. However the pictures showed a pink and mint green 80's homage to better days, and much as people secretly love 80's power ballads, I just wasn't feeling this. It clearly hasn't had a refurb since the 80's, in fact I was trying to date it better but the whole thing was such a hideous remnant of said better days that I trudged to the 7-11 next door in order to buy sake and drink myself to sleep. Actually the woman at 7-11 next door, no doubt used to hungry, tired and distressed guests, stuck at this Fawlty Towers until daylight, kindly heated up the dumplings I bought with an air of sympathy. There I took my sad meal back to the hotel room and drank my sake into oblivion. If you were to consider staying at this hotel, maybe reconsider. The owners really need to question whether cracked tiles, ripped and stained carpets, peeling wallpaper and chipped (stained) chairs are worth the 180 euro I forked out. In the middle of God knows where. No doubt they would say yes, it was. But thank goodness for the power of Internet reviews.

On the edge of town

DYA717on 25/05/2016 11:42

This hotel is on the edge of town away from the business district. Nice quiet place. They have a community furo in the spa in the back building – you need to go out the back and cross the driveway, in our case, in a little drizzle. The hotel is like a business hotel, with smallish, efficient rooms which are comfortable and clean. They had a basic Japanese breakfast buffet. WI-FI in the rooms. 7-eleven next door. I came with a tour group and haven’t heard any complaints.

Not bad but nothing special just onsen

Fnrason 13/01/2016 15:53

This hotel was given from yakoso tour. They have onsen at 2nd floor. When we were dinner, a few of foods were no more and no one added. But i found 1 guy could speak english fluently and he was very helpfull. Taste of food was average. The room was small. Nothing special from this hotel
