Good
TS Son 14/07/2017 05:34The receptionist was a very nice gentleman. He gave us the room we wish. But the only disappointments were that the drain tube of the bathtub did not let the water to go smoothly enough on the second floor, and the noise of the air conditioner.
Clean and comfortable
kensmile93on 18/12/2016 22:12We stayed there for 2 nights. The staff didn't speak English at all and I tried my best to ask for an early check-in. At the end, they managed to understand my request and agreed to do so.
The room was small and old, but the hotel in itself was great. Wakayama is not a touristy destination but I can definitely recommend this hotel because of the street's quietness.
It is a little bit far from the station but next to the Wakayama Castle.
Small but clean
Archie Don 19/03/2016 07:08I spent in this hotel one night in January 2016 and it was the smallest room I have ever got. As it was my first ever trip to Japan and I noticed that this size is very typical and natural for this country. Passenger cars are also very short and narrow however very toll. The room was very clean and neat. What surprised me the most, was the container style compact bathroom built in the room. There was a safety water level mark in the bath, giving user a clear indication, how much water you can put in before you get in, depend on your weight. As the toilet flushing tank more-likely is combined with sink support, the amount of water flushing toilet is huge, which seem to be in contradiction to the bath marking and global water saving policy. Another issue seem to be also very characteristic to Japan and it is TV. There were no international English language channels available ( i.e. CNN, BBC SKY, Animal Planet etc), which are quiet normal standard across the globe. Only few local Japanese channels. Breakfast is available from 06.30 till 09.00 but not included in the standard price. There is WiFi, a fridge ( empty) and hot water kettle available in the room. Hotel is not foreign tourist friendly I would say as there are very limited information available in English. I couldn’t find any advice to be equipped with power adaptor, as the Japanese voltage and sockets are different to the one we know. Breakfast time should be clearly stated in each lift and on phone set in the rooms and the reception call should be one button operation also clearly marked. These are very common problem in most of the hotels I was living in.
Concluding nice place for one or two nights with long way ahead.
Hope above will be helpful for both parties.
It was ok for a night
PaulineOoon 16/03/2016 17:14I have nothing particularly positive or negative to say about this hotel where we stayed for a night. We wanted to go to the beach and all the hotel closer to the sea were booked. The staff tried to help us get to the beach but the bus indication were not clear we ended up walking which was long but worth it. The beach is nice even if not spectacular. Wakayama has nothing special to offer but the beach.
The room was according to Japanese standards rather small but clean and confortable.
The hotel is a 10 minutes bus ride from the train station (regular buses) and 30-40 minutes walk.
Room is clean and comfortable
C Pon 24/08/2015 09:31The room is clean and tidy and the bed is comfortable. However, it takes around 20 mins walk to JR Wakayama station. The restaurants nearby were closed so early. We did spend a long time to look for a restaurant to have dinner.
