A bit run down and tired
purringcaton 08/01/2017 03:53We stayed here for 2 nights recently. It's easy enough to find, it's basically up the main street in a straight line from the Yamagata train station. For some reason I had the idea that APA hotels were of decent quality, but this one sadly missed the mark for us a bit.
The room size was typical for Japan, but the pillows were very uncomfortable (filled with some kind of tiny beads?). The toilet was dodgy, it sometimes kept running water after flushing and the button got stuck or wouldn't push down.
Aside from that it was okay. The TV worked, the lights worked, and all the buttons on the control panel beside the bed worked, as did the fridge. It was just dated and could use some repairing.
The worst experience we have had in Japan
Finnegan Oon 12/10/2016 23:19We checked in last night and while I have no problem with the size of the room, I do have problems with the absolute filth, lack of care and overall condition of the hotel. Our shower has mold growing in it, the toilt is broken, the phone does not work, the control panel next to the bed has broken buttons hanging out, the mattress has broken springs and the pillows are filled what I can only assume are microbeads. It is like sleeping on a beanbag. We also paid for a non smoking room, which reaks of cigarettes. I have never bothered to take the time to write a negative review of a hotel, but this one is appalling.
