What People are saying

Stinky smokey

Preston Son 09/03/2017 23:36

All they had was a smoking room left. What a mistake. As soon as I walked in the room it was so overwhelming. I could not believe how strong the smoke smell was. It was like someone was still smoking in the room. In fact the hallway was smoky.
The puli. Bath and proximity to Sendai station were a plus. I went to bed late after the public bath but could hardly sleep due to the strong smell.
I'll never do that again.
I missed breakfast as my plans changed the night before. I asked the staff of staying another night in a non-smoking room was possible. They had one. When I asked that night if the breakfast could be moved from tomorrow morning to the next morning they said no! I was a little shocked being that I was not able to wait till 7:00 the next morning due to a 6:00 departure to visit a temple. As an end result I didn't stay the next night. In part due to the fact they would not move the breakfast that I would not have attended anyway.

Location wins, but really small rooms.

I often visit Sendai for work and this time I was looking for a hotel close to the main station, which brought me to this one.

Let me share my impression of the most important factors.

Price:
Just right. Nothing more needs to be said.

Location:
Just 5 mins away from the main station. Many restaurants in the area.

Reception and staff:
Very standard, but very good for that. The elevators are located between entrance and reception, so the hotel is quite anonymous. Just right for a business stay.

Room:
Twin-bed, but really really small. I even had problems finding enough space for my suitcase, Bathroom en suite, everything clean and functional. Unfortunately the windows are non-seethrough.

Conclusion:
A clear recommendation for everyone that is looking for budget hotel with a good connection to public transport. Not one of my favorites, but good enough for the price.

Feel free to contact me if you have further questions.

Convenient location, good sleep, slow internet, overpriced

Only a 10 minute walk to Sendai station, clean, well maintained, good bed, fresh linen. Not much noise, comfortable bed, good sleep. Rooms, though, are tiny and mine seemed to be filled with many unnecessary appliances, including a mammoth TV that took up half the desk space. There isn’t enough space between the desk and bed to comfortably pull out the chair. Internet service is slow and unreliable for all but the most low grade video. The hotel has four elevators, but every time I had to use them I had to wait 2-5 minutes. Breakfast is expansive but geared largely toward Japanese tastes: salads, rice, miso, natto, pickles, fish and the like. On busy days the dining room is a mad scrum. As in most of Japan, space is a premium and like the hotel rooms too much is squeezed into a tiny space. Dining is self-service and getting to the food station, the beverage station, and then your table requires lots of weaving or waiting for someone to pass through the aisle. Imagine trying to get your own food on an airplane. Altogether, not a bad stay but clearly overpriced. Cheaper options with similar level of service are available.

Clean and the location is always a plus!

If I come back to Sendai, this is a hotel that I am likely to go back to. There is nothing much to rave about but the location, the cleanliness, and its modern amenities make it a nice place to set up base.

1. Location - it is located near the JR station which makes it easier for us to use it as a base for a couple of days as we explored the surrounding area. There are several malls surrounding the station and several eateries along the way to the hotel. Thus a nice and convenient location.

2. Cleanliness - The building is well maintained and so are the rooms. The room we had is not very big but it does come with ensuite bathroom (and as I have said in my of my reviews this is an important factor for my partner). The room is clean and modern and that is good enough for us since we are hardly in the room anyway.

Overall and for the price we paid, this is a good place to stay.

close to the station

The hotel is like 3 minutes walk from the Sendai station. On the first floor there is a 24-h open convenience store where you can buy whatever you need. The hotel provides onsen (spa) this is the reason the bathroom in the room was quite small. The staff was very helpful and they called a taxi for me whenever I needed. The room was not that spacious, but since I traveled alone for a conference I didn't mind about it. Overall I enjoyed my stay :)
