Aeskulap1on 26/06/2017 20:24I't really takes a lot for me to rate someplace poor, but this hotel deserves it. Starting from the very complicated check in after working hours ( we arrived at 6:30 p. m.) had to pay higher price than stated in our reservation 126. 00 Sfr. plus 10 Sfr. for parking, scanning or ID didn't ' work our, and that without breakfast. I have stayed in better hotels, including breakfast at lower rate.
The top disappointment by temperature 36 C, no air condition, cheap beds and mattress, and bedcovers.
A good basic hotel
Catlyne Hon 24/06/2017 17:54This hotel lives up to it's name as a budget hotel with no extra services however the basics are covered well i.e. a good clean bed, pleasant room and nice bathroom. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful although they are only available during limited hours. It is also well located with reasonable access to trams and buses. The bonus is free use of the laundry and driers in the basement. We were there during a heatwave and needed the fan on and window open to survive as very few places are air-conditioned. All prices in Basel seem very expensive so although this hotel wasn't cheap, it appeared to be reasonable for what it offered.

Clean but lack of confort
FRANCESC Pon 31/03/2017 18:58The rooms and toilettes were very clean but the bed small and not confortable, the rooms look more like a hostel or students apartment than a hotel.
Auto checking process was fast and easy and reception people very friendly.
The breakfast was enough but two blocks far away.
Good budget hotel
Kathy Son 23/03/2017 10:04This is a budget hotel so no staff in the evening or at weekends. You check in by machine outside hotel. Good to have a fridge and a kettle. Beds were comfortable and the room was spotless. Trams within very easy walking distance. Great to have the free tram/bus pass. This is excellent basic accommodation suitable for 2 or 3 night stay. Our one issue was that the room was too hot so we removed the duvet and slept under the cover with the window open. CNN is the only English speaking tv channel but BBC radio stations are available. Excellent value for money in a very expensive city.
