What People are saying

Good family hotel

Rachel Don 16/07/2017 20:21

I would be tempted to say this hotel deserves a 3* plus rating rather than just a 3. We very impressed with our newly renovated spacious apartment, it was very clean and had a large fridge, lovely balcony etc. It would have been nice to have air con in the bedroom as well as the living room but opening the window was okay. Our apartment was quite a walk up a steep ramp then another path and up to the second floor. I would not enjoy pushing a pram up there like I seen some people do! We really enjoyed the pool side entertainment, didn't stay for the evening entertainment as we went out every night. This hotel is definitely more for families than young couples but we had a good week, it's lucky we are very tolerant of young children. For the cheap price we paid we are happy for what we got. The shops and supermarket inside the complex were good, supermarket has everything you might need. All the staff we came across were friendly and helpful except the grumpy lady in the supermarket. Just watch out for the poolside toilets as parents clearly allowed their children to visit these alone which lead to pee all over the floor daily, didn't smell great in 32C.

What's not to like???

We stayed here for 10 nights in June on self-catering. I must say the key to holidays nowadays is research and more research. The people on here who review and complain about stuff have only themselves to blame in a lot of cases. Do they not read reviews before they book? If not, why not? Your holidays are a major expenditure and so you want them to be what you are realistically expecting. There are plenty of comments on reviews about lilos not being allowed in the pool. There are 550 rooms in this hotel so the pools are obviously going to get crowded. There are a lot of steps to some of the rooms. The entertainment is geared towards the Spanish and the staff do not speak a lot of English. We were aware of all this from earlier reviews.

We thought the place was fabulous and had a really great time. We were on a package with Jet2 and I had emailed in advance and asked for a quiet room on a high floor and we had a reply. We were on the side where the little river is on the top floor. Avenida del Rio 9E (AR09E). We had 32 steps up but once the cases are up that’s it until you leave. The views were lovely, looking over the lawn area and you could see the sea. As others have said the one bed apt was spotless and all newly refurbished. There was a hairdryer and toiletries provided. The TV was only in Spanish. Housekeeping was great, air-con was great especially if you kept the bathroom door shut. The safe was €2.50 per night. Any staff we met were good. If you can I would take a few extra coat hangers and a travel kettle. You can only get wi-fi in or around reception.

The prices at the shops on site were very reasonable. We like the beach but if it’s a bit windy you can just come back over and get a sunbed on the lawn, there are always plenty. The bus outside runs every half hour and costs €1.20. You can stay on as long as you like and go up to the pueblo or to either end of the resort. As I said we were on s/c. We didn't spend any evenings in the hotel. We like to go out for a nice meal. There are so many snack bars and restaurants round about you are really spoiled for choice. Lots of them do a menu del dia (3 courses) for €12. We didn’t have a bad meal. You can do tapas or you can eat like a Brit if you want. There is a snack bar just to the left of the hotel called Salon de Juego Bellagio. They have a great choice of snacks for lunch. The two of us would get change from €10. There is also a big TV in there if anyone wants to watch rugby or anything. The new promenade opposite is really nice for strolling along and you can soon get to some of the further restaurants. We liked the Ankara Beach Bar. It was great for people watching and had live music on at weekends.
All in all we had a great holiday and would certainly stay at these apartments again

Lovely location

Lovely location and good family resort , newly upgraded apartments same the air conditioning isn't in the bed room where it is really needed. The staff are very hard working and friendly but the restraunt is enormous , noisy and food although nice is mundane and repetitive , but as the resort is all inclusive and catering for such a large amount of people this is understandable I wouldn't want to work there.
beach just across the road and the resort is lovely and safe and very Spanish .

Great holiday

Lovely place but!!!!!

The place itself is lovely, great rooms especially the air con!!! Great grounds some nice staff but got to say the food is not great at all same things everyday not the slightest difference , the bar where you can get your all inclusive is tiny so you spend pretty much all your time queuing up to get a drink and whilst doing that you miss the very poor entertainment which is probably a good thing to be honest. If you do actually manage to get a drink and find that you are enjoying the entertainment it won't last long as when you get a seat outside your just sat on top of people and can't actually move to go and get another drink!!! Other than that the actual place is lovely
