Nice apartments and well located,50 euros in a taxi one way.
Not much there as only 5 decent restaurants on a night time and very quiet around the small local shops.
Weather was good for 2 days then floods and thunderstorms for 2 days

Currently on holiday here at Canyamel Garden Apartments with my children 11, 15 and 16 half board.. Arrived 2am Friday morning and thankfully having checked previous reviews was able to advise transfer driver to take us to hotel Mayurca rather than apartments for check in .. we were met by a friendly chap who checked us in and helped us with our cases to apartment ( room 102 ) First impression was large, airy and fairly clean. We slept well, however the apartment faced the road so was quite noisy from early morning especially as we needed to sleep with window open as no air con. So up and out first morning and down for breakfast at the hotel. There is plenty of choice and make sure you go to the outside cooking area for bacon and egg and in eve for meat and fish (we missed this first morning as round a corner from main buffet) food average for meals but never enough cutlery and tables never cleared fast enough as staff seem a little busy and disorganised. Seating is outside which is nice but there is also an inside area that appears to not be used and is just full of tat and looks untidy. Hotel reception staff friendly and helpful. The resort is mainly German and Dutch we have not met another English family all week!! The apartment building is a little tatty and could do with a bit of tlc as feel it is neglected. There are lots of empty areas that could be used to the the owners and guests advantage. What was the reception and check in is just full of rubbish looks awful this seems a shame as would be great to have a little bar or cafe here. Same under the apartments lots of empty areas full of cleaning equipment and rubbish. The apartment is fine though again a bit of tlc wouldn't go a miss but nothing major to complain about. As before only clean once a week but that's ok and enough towels. The resort is ideal .. Beach lovely, nice walk along the river and over the bridge, good information centre over the bridge and bus stop is also here and a little shopping area with cash point and pharmacy. In the eve there are just enough bars and we have gone to any hotel with live entertainment with no one complaining. We have visited the caves of Arta (20 min walk), Cala Radjata on a bus where there is a nice harbour and it is a busier than Canyamel and we did a boat trip from on here on Sea Odyssey. All in all enjoying our week Aqua land tomorrow then home Thursday .. Check out is 12pm but hotel will store cases and provide a room to freshen up in if you have an evening flight .. Not sure we would return but only because we feel we have seen everything the area has to offer .. All in all great holiday at a good price!!

Spacious apartments, but no cleaning all week!!!

These apartments are spacious and clean upon arrival, however I soon learnt there is no cleaning whatsoever during a 7 night stay - unbelieveable really!!

The hotel is situated approx 4-5 minutes from the apartments, which is where the breakfast and evening meal are served. Unless you know where you are going when you first arrive, it can be a little tricky. I recommend the show cooking as opposed to the buffet, this is much better. You are under the impression there is only a continental breakfast, however if you go to the show cooking area, you will see the chef serves freshly cooked fried eggs and bacon which are extremely good. Similarly, in the evening, chef cooks fresh fish and meat and this is very tasty. Overall, the buffet is not so good, it is the same thing most evenings, mostly chips and the same vegetables which is not to my taste.

The staff at the hotel are lovely, in particular Alexandra and Melanine, who are both extremely helpful.

Tony the waiter is a lovely guy who served me ice cold Estrella Damme every evening, thoroughly enjoyable after heat in the day of 34 degrees!!

Canyamel is extremely quiet with very little to do, however for €1.85 you can travel to the next resort, which is only 20 minutes away and for € 2.85 you can travel to Cala Millor which again only takes around 20 minutes and gets you away from the extreme quietness of Canyamel.

I highly recommend a visit to the nature stream, only a 5 minute walk across the beach. The resort is very small and takes a maximum of 10 minutes from start to finish. At the nature stream, you will find ducks and ducklings and I got to feed a goat which I totally loved.

The apartments I agree are extremely basic. There is no kettle, you have to pay a
€10 deposit but this is given back once you return the kettle. However, if you are self catering, this should be already in the apartments upon arrival.

The beds are really comfortable, however I did not sleep well with no air con as it was extremely hot at night.

I would not return to these apartments, however this is only my personal opinion.

After reading reviews we felt a bit apprehensive about this accommodation, however we really needn't have been!!! The apartment was lovely. Very spacious, with comfy beds (even the sofa bed) the kitchen had everything you would need to cater the basics (we generally had breakfast and lunch in the room and went out on an evening) yes you have to pay a €10 deposit for a kettle but that is purely because the apartments are away from the main reception at the nearby hotel mayurca so is just as security for them and you get the money back on its return so don't see the issue with this.
The reception are more fluent in German than in English but still very helpful despite a slight language barrier at times.
The location itself is lovely, perfect for a peaceful break, there are a few restaurants near by and the hotel bar is lovely for a few evening drinks. Our favourite restaurant was bonanza, they do steak and Italian style dishes. There is also a lovely little restaurant on the beach we went to for breakfast on the first morning (although nothing food wise seemed to open until 10/11 other than supermarkets so the rest of our stay we had croissants and cereal etc in the room)
The pool is small and when you see the number of apartments you worry that there may not be enough beds however I think most people must use the beach as it was always lovely and quiet and never any problem getting a bed!
If you want a bit more night life then a taxi to Cala Millor is only about €20 and there is plenty of bars/shops/restaurants to try for a change!!
Overall a fantastic place for an amazing price!!!!

This is the second time we have stayed here. Apartments spacious and clean. Kitchen was basic which was fine for making breakfast, lunch and snacks. As we were on holiday cooking an evening meal was not a priority as we prefer to eat out.
Pool area was clean and quiet. Plenty of sun loungers available.
Picked the keys up from reception at Muyrca hotel. Receptionist at hotel was brilliant. Really helpful with any queries we had, she even printed off our boarding passes for our return journey home and confirmed for us our transfer pick up time.
All in all a brilliant holiday and will definitely return to stay again.
