Perfect flat in perfect location
Cheshirewomanon 08/06/2017 15:03We stayed here for a week as a family of four at the end of May / beginning of June.We had arranged for a taxi transfer from Malaga airport which worked very well since our flight times made train travel impossible.
We were very glad not to have to worry about finding this place. Our taxi driver, like most people, lost his way, had to ask for directions and finally nearly got stuck on the approach 'road'. I would recommend parking your car outside the historic town and walking to this place as it is very central. If you do decide to drive, do NOT go down Calle Juan Mera. Our driver did and regretted it - the last 50 cm took him 10 minutes and we all thought he was going to be stuck in the narrow road.
Once in the flat however, everything was just perfect. The airconditioning worked well in all rooms meaning that sleeping at night was very easy.
Wifi signal was strong enough for all 4 of us to access the internet constantly.
We stayed in a top floor flat and as a result had access to our own terrace. This was great for breakfast and dinner, i.e. out of the full sun of the day. Breakfast was particularly nice up there with the temperatures being still nice and fresh. The terrace also has its own shower which my husband enjoyed after going for a run in the mornings.
There is a little supermarket right outside the flat which had enough of a range to enable us to cook most of our meal. The only slight downside was that the kitchen didn't have an oven, just a microwave and a good size hob.
In terms of location, this flat is perfect, just around the corner from the central Plaza de las Tendillas. It took us just under 10 minutes to walk to the Mezquita and I also visited the Palacio de la Viana which took me 10 minutes on foot.
Our teenage daughters really loved this location as it is only a couple of minutes walk to the pedestrian shopping area of Cordoba (with air con in all the shops!).
The flat was spotlessly clean when we arrived and since we stayed for a week, the cleaner also came in mid way.
In terms of noise, we found this place to be very quiet in general. However, there was a late night shopping event on the Friday which ended with a disco concert on the Tendillas Square. The noise from this carried and it was impossible to sleep whilst the music was on. It finally finished at 1.00 am and everything was silent again.
Money gone missing during the otherwise nice stay
janekion 09/01/2017 15:50$160 USD disappeared from our bags during the stay. Two people showed up during the day (while our teenage son was in the apartment), opened the entrance door with their own key, brought a roll of toilet paper (apparently, a job for two in Cordoba), spend some time in the living quarters while the kid was in the kitchen, and then left without doing any other cleaning. We could not put "do not disturb sign" because there was none in the apartment.
Later, when the missing money were discovered, and we put the question to the management, they stated "nobody could have had access to the apartment". When we pointed out the fact of the visit that day and its absurdity, no further response was received. The management has essentially gone underground...
Obviously you can just carry anything of value with you during the day, but the fact that management is either lying or simply has no control over who goes into the apartment during the day and possibly rummages through your belongings would be a concern to me.
Book at your own risk.
Other, admittedly a less critical issue, is the property's inability to hold parking reservation. When we showed up, we were informed by the receptionist that they could only accommodate the car for one night, even though previously a two-night reservation was accepted. Public parking is a separate destination which, because of the VERY narrow one-way streets in Cordoba (not really driveable old town area), takes additional 20-25 minutes to drive to, even though it is only a 5-minute walk away. The receptionist could have informed us in advance and suggested to go directly to the garage first, but apparently decided not to bother.
No soap or shampoo in the apartment, only hand soap pump. When we asked for a bar of soap, we were told that they do not provide anything else.
WiFi was slow at times, but it is not unusual in Spain.
Ideal location, well-functioning large appartment
Pernilleskokkenon 25/11/2016 09:33We stayed in appt 7 with our small children and the apartment was large, modern, clean, with everything we needed for a 2 night stay, except a towel for the kitchen. The heating worked well and the staff was very responsive with issues. The beds were comfortable and showers were good. Location is really in the middle of a good lively area with shops and restaurants, yet extremely quiet because it's a bit removed from the main street and the building has an inner courtyard with ruins. It is some 10min walk from Mezquita and a bit further from Palacio Viana. We were very pleased. They provided a baby bed.
Modern and spacious
LuckyTravelerRonaldoon 23/10/2016 16:07We were delighted with this accommodation in Córdoba. We had been traveling for 3 weeks staying in apartments across Spain and this stay was our best yet. Two full size bedrooms for 2 couples with twin bathrooms and plenty of living space. And there were real Roman ruins in the atrium.
Good accommodation, very good location
Sydbunyipon 13/03/2016 20:18We stayed in the top floor apartment with large open roof terrace. The apartment had two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a nice-sized lounge/dining area. Kitchen bench space was small and could have been better designed. There's a washing machine, and the roof terrace makes it easy to dry things in the sun on a fold-out stand provided.
The location is excellent, situated only a few minutes walk from the Plaza de las Tendillas and a major shopping area. Directly across from the apartment is a small supermarket, and within 10 minutes walk there is a Cortes de Ingles department store with a large and very good supermarket.
In the other direction, only 15 to 20 minutes walk, are the major historical sites of the Mezquita Catedral and the Alcazar, as well as lots of interesting historical alleys in the Juderia, or former Jewish area.
We didn't have a car - and I think it would be a nightmare navigating these narrow, winding, one-way streets - nor did we need one.
