What People are saying

Expensive but Not Good!

Darius681on 06/04/2017 19:31

My colleague booked two serviced apartments here due to the nice pictures she saw on their website. DO NOT TRUST THOSE PICTURES, the actual rooms are REALLY OLD.

The kitchen was tiny and almost bare, I think we had one or two spoons, and a few dirty old cups. The toilet was dark (even with the light on) with poor ventilation, and the shower water pressure was low.

The beds were so-so, and the heater hardly worked, which means it probably hasn't been maintained in years. Our apartment window faced some kind giant ventilation shaft on the ground, and from it came smells of oil and cooking at various intervals.

For an old place like this, the prices charged were ridiculous, and this was likely due to the demand for rooms during that month as there was an international conference (which was the aim of our business trip).

While the elderly gentleman at the reception had a pleasant demeanor, he could not speak English, and there was literally no other staff around, so communication was difficult at times.

The somewhat good thing about this place is that it is not too far from the Goya Metro station (about 10 minutes walk).

If I return to Madrid, this place is definitely NOT ON MY LIST for accommodation.

*NOTE: We stayed at this apartment in October 2015, not 2016, but due to date restrictions by TripAdvisor, I had to choose 2016.

A good base to enjoy Madrid

These apartments are located in the posh Salmanca suburb of Madrid, within a walking distance from the Prado and many more tourists attractions. I happened to stay in 2 of them and they consist of a bedroom, with a bathroom, and a lounge that includes a kitchenette. The furniture is basic and serves its purpose

Numerous bedbugs which made me suffer hard both physically and morally

Traveller216001on 02/07/2016 20:25

1. Blood-sucking bedbugs (chinches de cama): on the 1st night of our stay I was severely bitten by bedbugs and developed hard consequences: swollen face, hands, arms, almost closed eye due to hard swell, as these insects happened to live in our bed. I suffered both physically and morally for many days afterwards. Thanks God they didn't attack my 6-year-old child and attacked only me!

2. Dirt: in the 1st apartment that we ‘ve been given – lots of cigarette butts, coins and various type of dirt in the open-type radiator in the sitting room; one glass of the window in the bedroom was missing which made sleeping unbearable, as the apartments overlook the Goya street which is very busy day and night; outrageously dirty windows and curtains, as if they have never been cleaned since the day of their manufacture. The windows and the curtains in the 2nd apart were no better than in the 1st

3. The personnel on the reception doesn’t speak the slightest English, except for one manager, who happened to be on duty on the 1st night of our stay, whom we showed the bedbugs in our beds and on walls and ceiling and who gave us another apartment, free of the bedbugs. If you address to the manager on duty during the day, he says: "Solo espanol"! which makes the communication impossible.

4. I would not recommend to stay in this hotel, unless its management makes the proper overall cleaning of the apartments and makes sure there are no blood-sucking insects in their guests’ beds. Staying in this hotel was a nightmare for our family.

VERY basic, but well positioned

Mark Don 25/02/2016 00:47

Very basic rooms, non english speaking staff, had to pay up front which was a minor nuisance. Internet access not free (9euro per day) , but i guess its budget accommodation on tight margins. A good bed, and a hot shower, the decor is getting old and tired. But it is in a good location, with some good restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk. Not somewhere for your honeymoon, but the rooms are cheap. No breakfast, but plenty of cafes nearby. Exit the door, and 100 yards or so on the left is Taberna Daniela, a good tapas bar. La Paloma was best mediterranean restaurant close by. Principe de Vergara I think the closest Metro. Bedroom overlooked from across the street so be aware.

It could't be worse

JavierViajero2010on 19/03/2015 00:22

Just look at the photos and do not go there!
A tinny apartment with real bad maintenance, broken closet, entrance door, noisy, etc.
And on top of that they charge 3 euros per day for internet and it doesn't work. They recon their problem. I had to change to another hotel
The floor was dirty
