What People are saying

Family of 6. 2 weeks vacation

Nice hotel with a lovely view and great surroundings by the pool. Hotel is badly worn. Very slow wifi, really bad sun beds, kitchen needs an upgrade, old fridge, old television, the sofa bed is not big enough for 2 grown adults. No cleaning during our 2 weeks stay, we changed the beds and towels ourselves.

you are a Non smoker then DO NOT stay here!!

John Don 28/05/2017 17:50

the SO CALLED NON SMOKING rooms smelt of smoke and we had to check out early and argued for a refund...finally they agreed AND ...NO Wifi in the room, only in the lobby...but the website says IN the rooms...
AND this place is not easy to find due to poor signage on the road leading there...

This is not a non smoking place as they say

Sylviadr1on 22/05/2017 08:03

We had to leave this place after the first night ! could smell cigarette smoke even though they claim to be a non smoking place. When we told Cristina at the reception we have to leave because of the smell she said she cannot stop anyone smoking in the apartment ! There was a ash tray and a cigarette vending machine there - why would you have this if Manilva Green claim to be a non smoking place ! Also, the internet was not working well. We would not recommend this place to stay especially if you do not like the smell of smoke.

Hi,

We are extremely happy with these apartments.
We arrived tired but the check in process was fast. Nothing hidden.
We got duplex with stairs but because of our youngest son we had to ask to change it and it was also done fast. Thank you !!!
We can't agree that some things are old fashioned as we came for holidays not for luxuries and in our case we are really satisfied:)
Swimming pool's water in April cold but we spent some time to enjoy the sunshine.
Apartments are located around 93 km from Malaga Airport so a car is a must.
We have visited few good attractions which I will recommend in the next post.
For family I would strongly recommend: Sea life in Benalmadena, Selwo Marina and Crocodile Park nearby Torremolinos.
Nearby beaches are beautiful:)
Local cafes and restaurants in Sabinillas are fabulous.
In Manilva there is Lidl, SuperSol and Aldi in Estepona. Prices of some fruits are cheap but avoid Mercadona as it was more expensive for the same stuff.
I would recommend also Centauro rent a car as this is our second time with this rental company and no problems. Pick a full insurance.
Reception is located quite near our apartment 703 on the first floor.
The ladies cleaned it today but we did not ask :)
Excellent service!
We are living on 27/04 but I will make next booking.
I was told that during the peak season everything around will be very expensive but it's normal everywhere in the world.
The place is really good to enjoy local culture, weather and tastes.
I would recommend Casablanca restaurant in Sabinillas across the Yachts marina. Excellent staff and menu.

There are two roads which you can take from the airport-AP7 €7,35 and €1,60 just before Manilva but A-7 is free and is called Avenida de Mediterranean. First time we had to pay as locals didn't speak English so it was difficult for us.
N-340 is a road that you could drive from Torremolinos or Benalmadena but depending on your location.

Don't book this hotel unless you have a car!

nmh1970on 24/04/2017 15:07

Don't book these apartments unless you have a car as they are situated right up a hill about 2-3 kms out of town.

Don't book these apartments if you are looking for a traditional relaxing hotel on the Costa Del Sol as it's not one of these, use the apartments as base to see Marbella and Gibraltar, etc, etc.

The rooms have all been stylishly updated (I think) and have air conditioning and the ability to heat the room if it is cold like when I was there in April 2017. There is no oven in the kitchen by the way, but it has a microwave and 2 hobs. The kitchen is sparsely equipped so expect to go out and buy everything from scratch if you are self catering.

The staff are okay, the hotel has no atmosphere whatsoever in the bar areas or restaurants, the emphasis is more on functionality.

The WIFI is absolutely appalling and drops out all the time, if you speak to the staff before you check in they will say it's excellent and then come up with a well used list of excuses of why it isn't like the wind, they are going to call the engineers, no one else has complained, blah, blah. I think everyone that goes here is more or less Spanish and have 4G on their phones, so hence they don't mind about the internet. We were there on a half holiday and half business trip so we ended up having to rent a 3G box from the guys at skydoctor.com as we were fed up of complaining to the hotel and getting nowhere.

Watch the underground car park spaces as they are very tiny and if you have rented a car with an excess expect something to be damaged if the hotel is pretty full. We ended up parking at the bottom car park as the spaces are larger, but I did see some people in the other blocks had parked right outside their apartments, which is something that hotel says you can't, by hey ho!

As for cleaning they will clean your room once every week, but you have to request this from reception as they are not telling you this on check in.

The pools are pretty small and in keeping with many other hotels in Spain they are unheated.

Manilva village is a 10 minute walk away which looks very sweet in it's own way I suppose. Manilva town next to the beach looks a bit tired and you could soon get bored down there. The beach is okayish.

It's relatively easy to drive to Gibraltar in your car from there (takes about 25 minutes down the A7) and Marbella is about 15-20 minutes arrive away.

There is a Lidl in Manilva and Mercadona. In Estepona which is 10 minutes drive away there is a Carrefour.

Bring your own entertainment too as the TV has no foreign channels.

All in all this hotel is a nothing ventured nothing gained experience like the OP's have mentioned on here, hence the low prices for it being offered on the internet.
