What People are saying

Friendly and basic accommodation

marco kon 06/05/2016 09:41

Apartamentos Turisticos anoreta is situated just besides rincon de la Victoria. About a 20 min drive from malaga airport. The reception is run by antonio. He is most friendly and helpful at any time. Although the accommodation is a little basic, the price is too. We stayed here for nearly two weeks for 26 eu per night. Prices will go up in the high season. Anoreta golf is round the corner. And all touristic places are within half an hour drive.

Cheap but cheerful

Antonio (think that was his name) wasnt there to greet us due to late flight in but he walked us through finding the key and the apartment via phone - even calling us back to prevent charges on our phones.

Apartment was spacious with loads of useful stuff including a washing machine - even had a tumble in the basement you can use.

Clean friendly - good place for the kids but not close enough to beach - was a bit of a trek

Good value, friendly, but far away from main amentiies

We stayed here for 2 weeks in October. It was clean and tidy. Antonio who runs reception and appears to do all the work in the building speaks excellent English and is very helpful.
We were looking for an inexpensive base for our holiday and this worked well. It was in a quiet area, the noisiest thing was each other. There is a small cafe and general shop nearby.
There is no food or drink in the apartment when you arrive, and as we arrived at 11pm on a Saturday night, having not so much as a bottle of water was a little bit tricky. So stop at the shops on your way and pick up essentials if you are arriving later. Incidentally, the system to get your key works well. You arrive at the door, call the number given with your mobile, and Antonio directs you to a safe in the wall where you can pick up your key. We were able to get a second set as well so we could be separate sometimes.
Be aware local supermarkets are closed on a Sunday and the small local shop is only open till 2pm on Sunday.
There is a halogen hob and a microwave, and an assortment of dishes, pots, etc. There are no instruction manuals for the appliances, but if you have internet access you can look them up and download manuals. We never did get the hang of the halogen hob and it kept cutting out in mid-cook, which you can either treat as a disaster or a source of hilarity. We chose the second option.
Incidentally, to use the internet you must speak to Antonio who registers you and you pay for it. Of course you can only do that when you see him, and the apartment reception is only open for a few hours each day Mon-Fri, so you will not have access right away. Some commentators said the wifi was not good but I found it adequate for everything I had to do including looking at Google maps.
Outside the bedroom window is a small pulley to hang up washing, good enough for a few socks. There is one washing machine/dryer in the basement and as we were there when it was quiet, we never had any problem with that.
We couldn't use the small pool as it was out of season, which was a pity as it was hot while we were there.
There were only 2 things that might make me hesitate to go back. One was that the apartments are actually a few kilometres from Rincon, and I think I might have preferred to be nearer the town, which is quite nice and has plenty of amenities. The other, which is more personal to me, is that the beds were rather hard for me. I have some joint aches/complaints and so I wouldn't let this put you off, I think this is particular to me.
The beaches in the area are really good. We saw large seabass in the sea near Rincon.
All in all a big thank-you to Antonio for a nice time and decent apartmenr.

Nice apartment in Rincon de la Victoria

The apartment had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 living room with
flat screen TV, balcony. The area is about 1,5-2 km from the sea.
It is outside the tourist places so a rental car is recommended.
Parking outside the hotel is for free.
There is a little shop nearby, about 20-30 m away. The pool is very, very small.
WiFi is available 24/7, 1 week for 20 Euros but the signal strength was very
week in the room we had.
Air condition in the room was good.
Equipment in the kitchen:
wash machine, iron, cleaning equipment, microwave oven (no regular oven is available), 2 stove plates, pots, frying pan, glasses, plates, cutlery, a small coffee maker to put on the stove (espresso),sifter.
The staff was very helpful (Antonio).
The area is quite noisy with a lot of dog barking in the night otherwise quite calm
area.
You have to clean the apartment by yourself.

Apartamentos Turisticos Anoreta, Rincon de la Victoria

We were a party of 4 adults and one 2-year-old. The apartment had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one with bidet, both with shower over the bath), kitchen and laundry room/drying area, and a balcony overlooking a street behind the apartment complex.

The apartment was spotless on arrival, and very comfortable. The kitchen is quite basic - 2-ring ceramic hob, microwave/grill but no oven. The laundry room has a washing machine and a drying line.

The manager was extremely friendly and helpful.

There is a small pool and grassy area for sunbathing.

We like walking, and although 2 of us are grandparents, we managed the hill back up from the beach well. But, be aware - if you don't like walking, or are not very fit, the hill up from the coast is quite steep. There is a local bus service that runs from the town centre to the golf course just along from the apartments, however. There are many good places to eat along the sea front - can recommend Chiringuito Aqui Mismo & Playa Antonio - great food and good service.

Wifi is available at Euro 20 per week per device, but it is very slow - OK for checking e-mails, but not much good for anything more complicated.

All in all, can thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay to visit this part of Andalusia.
