Good Place not easy to find
TravelJunkie082on 29/08/2016 14:28You will really need your sat nav to find this place, it is smack in the middle of the shopping area of Clermont, great location for shops and restaurants that are clustered around the cathedral.
Be aware that these are basically apartments above a shopping centre. If i understood the receptionist correctly she closes at 2000 so i am guessing you would need some sort of PIN code entry system. If arriving late make sure to ring them to find out how it works.
Receptionist was friendly and spoke English.
No street car parking was available so you will have to park in one of the shopping centre car parks (i paid 12€ for the night).Be ware for some reason most of the car parks have restricted height access of 1.8m so some vans, 4x4 and roof racks would not get in.
I left at 0700 in the morning and of course could not gain access to the car park via the shopping centre so ended up walking down the 'no access'ramp to the car park.
Even when you have parked the car you will still need your sat nav to find the hotel which might only be 100m away, but you will have to negotiate a few back streets to find it.
Rooms themselves are really well equipped and were very cheap, with TV, small kitchen and wif. (The only thing i missed was air conditioning as Clermont can be very hot and stuffy in summer.)
All in all excellent value, but not easy to find the first time. I would go back.
Cheap but old
Stefano Con 13/02/2016 09:02Was here a couple of days on a business trip, the place is very central and although a bit hard to find it's in a great location. However the facilities are old and not extremely clean. It's true that it's a good deal, but for what you get asking more would be a theft.
hot!
199horstdon 04/08/2015 15:40Nice clean and spacey room in excellent location. Fridge came in very handy. But it was hot!! There was no air movement whatsoever in the room, the cool outside air didn't enter to fresh it up. In summer it really needs airco!
Bad service
annantwerpon 04/08/2015 12:11It was really hot when we visited Clermont Ferrand. Unfortunately there was no airco.. We knew there was no airco, we didn't know in advance it would be 40degrees out there. We really couldn't sleep so after one night we asked the receptionist if we couldn't cancell our stay because it was too hot. She said "no problem, I understand; we will pay you back."
So very relieved, we went packing our stuff and booked another hotel.
We went downstairs to give the key to the receptionist and suddenly she said "oh sorry I made a mistake. We cannot pay you back." We were very surprised, I mean, we trusted her information and booked already another hotel. This would cost us hundreds of euros more!!
We wrote Some mails to ask for our money but we only received unfriendly mails From them, saying we had booked a special formule which couldn't be reimbursed. But that is not the point at all! We asked the receptionist and trusted her. Their reply: "she is new so she didn't know better." What an excuse if we lose hundreds of euros!
We are very dissapointed and feel scammed. No way we will ever come back or recommend this hotel.
5 days stay
waltergeeraertson 25/07/2015 08:35I want to stay 5 days but due to the warming weather i want to annulatie after one night, because there is now climatisation. I aks THE receptioniste can i annulatie my room BECAUSE it is to warm for US, ofcourse no problem. After2 Hours when I picked up my bycicle, she told me you Cannot annulate, i told her i have allready booked an other hotel after you,told,me,we can annulate withouten charges. Now i lost all my money, this Cannot, if THE person told me you can annulate so I believe her. For me, these hotel chains no longer to trust and I'll never more books
